DEAD WORKERS PARTY presents "The Eye" Starring:
I took about 700 pictures over 7 hours late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning of the quandrantid meteor shower. I combined the clearest 300 of them to make the star trails, and then went and found individual pictures with the brightest meteors and overlayed them on top. I also found three planes flying overhead and overlayed those as well. The gaps in those plane streaks heading towards the horizon show how long my camera was taking between frames.
Having bills to pay is one of the worst parts of life, especially around the holidays. And if you're extremely unlucky, you might also have to pay some hefty medical bills. This can put a heavy damper on plans, wants and needs. What's worse? The people that you owe money to are pushy and always bother you to pay in a more timely fashion, or worse, pay bigger premiums.
From Astronomy Picture of the Day, Milky Way Over Abandoned Kilns by Tom McEwan. McEwan shot some historic kilns in rural Nevada, stitching together a panoramic "digital conglomerate of five separate images taken in early June from the same location. Visible above the unusual kilns is a colorful star field, highlighted by the central band of our Milky Way Galaxy appearing along a diagonal toward the lower right."
Here's the photo I came up with for this week's challenge. A Lego Star Wars ARC-170 Starfighter that I built back in May.

This week's review roundup is a diverse lot. They really only have two things in common—their indie origins and puzzle elements. Otherwise, they come from France, Spain and the U.S., a few from unknown designers and one by the guy who inspired Minecraft.
I've never tried Mr. Pizza, which seems to be a Korean pizza chain of some sort? I see there's a location in Koreatown, which gets 3 and a half stars on Yelp. They have bulgogi pizza! That is truly something for Kate to try.

The best is the Deathstar with an X through it.
Todd Cole directed this beautifully shot (DP Matthew Lloyd) and art directed preview of the Rodarte Spring '11 line. The visual execution of this ostensibly simple concept is flawless; there are no extraneous colors whatsoever. Clarity of vision and preproduction certainly paid off.
Today's innovation lies in the world of poppin' and lockin'. In fact, WonderHowTo's very own CTO, Bryan Crow, is no stranger to the realm of pop and lock-tastic (ask him, maybe he'll share some tips). But until Bryan posts some vids, we enjoy Korean extraordinaire Edo, as he gets awesomely inhuman for a chance to be the next big star at K-pop factory Cube Entertainment.
It's what every astronomy-loving geek has always wanted... a beautiful, twinkling home galaxy. As Instructables user MrTrick rightly warns, this project is no small feat. Be prepared to get schooled in:
For someone who loves math as much as Vi Hart (a self-proclaimed "mathematical musician"), she doesn't pay an awful lot of attention to her math teacher. But that's ok.
