This is a great instructional video on how to find oblique asymptotes of rational functions. Let us take the example f(x)= x square+4x-12 over x-6. Now we have to find the horizontal or oblique asymptotes of this rational function. The higher power here is x square which is at the top and hence we have to find oblique asymptotes of this function. When we divide x square+4x-12 by x-6 we get x=10 and the reminder is 48. Now you can easily write down the final answer. The oblique asymptote for th...

The Pythagorean Theory is a way to find the missing length of a right triangle. Here is a right triangle with a description. The Formula for Pythagorean's Theory is A squared + B squared = C squared. If the hypotenuse is missing then you would use the formula above. If one of the legs is missing you would use C squared - B squared = A squared or C squared - A squared = B squared. You could use this if you were a carpenter because they always use right triangles. Here is a link to help you. Py...
You may find that granny squares lean or curve around when you are making the square. When I make my granny squares, I just keep going in the same direction without turning. You can turn if you want to make your squares appear more consistent in look, on both sides. If you have a specialty square with certain design elements, that may prevent turning. The decision will be up to you in the end.

Imatfaal's awesome post on Escher's tessellations on Polyhedra reminded me of some ornaments I made this summer. I made some of Escher's square tessellations onto cubes and then reprojected them onto spheres. I actually used a 60 sided Deltoidal hexecontahedron since that net is fairly easy to fold and looks pretty round.

No one likes it when random people wander into your home and mess things up, which is why it behooves you to hide your things from even the most prying eyes with builds like this totally invisible, 2x2, piston-operated door with no visible redstone either inside or outside. The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears may have gone differently if they would have had one of these babies installed in their home: I did a tutorial for a piston-powered trapdoor and many people wanted to know how to...
I got hooked on origami sometime after Math Craft admin Cory Poole posted instructions for creating modular origami, but I had to take a break to finish a quilt I've been working on for a while now. It's my first quilt, and very simple in its construction (straight up squares, that's about it), but it got me thinking about the simple geometry and how far you could take the design to reflect complex geometries. Below are a few cool examples I found online.
