I'll have to post up some pictures of astronomy-related papercraft models that I have made at some point, but for now here is a link to a few different papercraft models of the planets. I need to go back through my resources because I know there are a bunch of sites out there with some easier to make polyhedral models. Also, at some point I'll put up the models of planetary bodies that I have mapped and labeled myself.
I think this would count as a pet, right? Well, everybody was doing either cats or dogs (with the occasional goat), so I decided to take a picture of something different. This is Pandora, my horse. When you're giving her a bath, she hates when you get her head wet. You can see the water in the lower left corner. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be intimidating or what, but to me it's hilarious! The picture was hard to take, though, because I had to hold the camera and spray water at her.
I don't have a cool cell phone to use apps to filter my pictures. I think that the pictures taken with apps can look really cool though. I think someone should make an app that does what I did in Photoshop to the following photos. My wife calls it blueprint style.
I took this picture in India at a special holiday- "The wedding of Shiva and Parvati". Everybody put on their best clothes and happy faces. Bananas are launched in the air to pray for good fortune and end up as delicious snacks for the monkeys after they rain down from a yellow sky.
I have a few pictures, but the first is my entry. I thought the sweat fly was pretty cool. I don't understand why they named it such an ugly name for such a beautiful bug (not that the Luna Moth isn't). The pictures are more zoomed out progressively so I can see how close I can get to the moth before it flies off. Actually, it didn't fly off. I got to put my hand next to it- it had a 6 inch wingspan!

We were at the El Capitan on Sunday and while waiting for friends to show up we walked over to the massive Cirque du soleil Hollywood premiere for a few minutes. Around the time we were there celebrities were arriving so we just started taking pictures. I don't know a lot of celebrity names, some I only recognized by face (oh it's that dude from Swingers!), but this is the best shot I took above the crowd.
While using Google+, it's been apparent that there are two types of posters. There are the people who post thoughtful, serious posts about everything from tech to dealing with cancer. And then there are the meme propagators, the people who decide to rick roll others (ahem, +Bryan Crow), and constantly put up animated gifs. In a gesture to bring the social qualities of Google+ into the real world, photographer +Trey Ratcliff invited his Google+ followers to join him on a photowalk this past Thursday, held on the Stanford University campus. Over 150 people showed up to take pictures with fellow Googlers and Google+ users, and to socialize in "real life". This group photo was taken by professional photographer +Peter Adams.

I don't know about you guys but when I worked for ChaCha, my approval rating was constantly going down on questions that were accurate. I am missing those times when I get to go to the fishmongers @ the beach in our home town. You get to buy the freshest and the latest catch from the local fishermen. Even at the lowest price you can still haggle to go lower where at some point the fishmongers would give some extra fish just so you would buy again from them.
