I have been writing since I was a little boy. I remember watching South Park at age 9 and writing my own episodes. Aside from some curse words and sexual humor that you don't expect from a nine year old, there really was not much there. In middle school I used to write short stories, usually about myself and some of the things that had happened to me. To this day no one knows that a lot of the events I have written about are true. This is something that people have always asked about. I remem...
This is a great story about the title of a story. It can be really useful for any of you trying to think of a title for a story you have already written and it is also great when you are trying to write a story from a title you already know. Hope you enjoy!
Here is a great resource for writing traditional fiction. I like to read these things, but remember a few things. Each writer is different so it is perfectly okay if you do something that you are told not to, but still you like it. If you like it, write it, but this can be very helpful for those question mark areas.
This is fan art for a movie that has been announced but I don't think the script is even written. Newcomer Matthew Lopez, who came out of Disney’s writing program and did work on Bedtime Stories, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Race to Witch Mountain, has been hired to write the screen adaptation.

I've decided I've not been writing enough and want to get back into writing more often. I have a few ideas for articles based on password cracking and breaking into Windows, and a basic general coding type of articles, but I wanted to know if anyone had anything they wanted to know how to do, a language they wanted to learn the basics of or something like that. Please comment with any ideas.

With the plethora of programming that we promote at Null Byte, I figured a lot of you newbies that stop by IRC will need a big boost in the right direction to make your dive into programming a lot easier. A hot question that has been thrown around in IRC a lot when making the initial dive is, "How do I write code?". People who do not know much about computers can't understand how code is written. Code that we write here is usually scripted and written in Python, so we will use it as our examp...
Permanently deleting files is something that a lot of people aren't aware of. Actually, most people think that once a file is deleted, it is gone forever. This is not the case. Hard drives write to the disk via magnetic charges, positive and negative correlate to 1s and 0s for binary. This is then interpreted into information for the computer to use and access.
Yes, I still put that hyphen in “e-mail.” Remember when e-mail meant “electronic mail,” and wasn’t all one word? I do, and I honor that time with a little hyphen. Also, it means that I can make up all kinds of names for things that have “e-” at the beginning. I’ve been playing this game since 1992.
TSA agents are having a little too much fun, it's time for the rest of us to join in. Writing secret notes with lemon juice was one of my favorite pastimes as a child. All it took was a small flame to lightly scorch the paper and reveal the hidden message. Now that I'm tall and pay bills, lemon ink just isn't exciting enough anymore. Luckily, we can use another kind of invisible ink to write in fire! By using the saltpeter, we can whip up invisible fire ink in no time.

Agar-agar. It looks like gelatin and acts like gelatin, but it's definitely not gelatin. Agar is the vegetarian-friendly version of gelatin, with no animal collagen.
