In honor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, ESPN commissioned the Wieden+Kennedy ad agency (the same group that did the amazing aquarium Nikes) and the AM I Collective (a group of artists based in Cape Town, South Africa) to create 32 murals, depicting each and every team. Very nice work, beautifully done.
Seeing an aurora in person is one of the most amazing spectacles you could witness in the skies above. But what about the skies below?
There's a ton of videos on the web of musicians playing homemade PVC instruments, but I just recently stumbled upon the impressive work of PVC pipe player Kent Jenkins, aka Snubby J. His most recent video features a duet with his faux-twin, playing "Wizards in Winter" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Turns out, he's been a PVC maestro for awhile now and even auditioned for his inspiration, the Blue Man Group, at the age of seventeen. Though he wasn't picked, they saw potential in him and aske...

I was going to update the first list of 15 Brilliant Google+ Female Photographers to Circle, but then I kept coming across so many amazing women that I decided to create another post highlighting their work. I received many great suggestions from +Kelli Seeger Kim (who takes some beautiful pictures herself), +Suzanne Haggerty, Google+ Photos Community Manager +Brian Rose, and many others.
No matter if you've used one or not, you've got to admit that 3D printers are pretty darn awesome, especially the self-replicating ones that extrude molten plastic and the shoebox-sized versions that use mesmerizing stereolithography to build tiny objects layer by layer. But what's even cooler? A solar-powered printer that uses the sun's energy to melt sand and make 3D objects out of glass.

Lego meets interactive 3D detection and camera mapping.
We've said it before and we'll say it again: Practice makes perfect. Even when it comes to the improbable art of long-distance parotta throwing. If there were an Olympic gold medal for doughy discus throw, this South Indian chef would surely take it.
Meet Matt Weathers, Biola University math professor and probable blood relative of Mary Poppins. Because, really, who but a Poppins could pull off a prank of this sort? Think Who Framed Roger Rabbit for the PowerPoint set. Or, better yet, see for yourself in the video gallery below:
Terry Guinn is a genius knife smith, and my personal favorite custom designer. Why? Instead of taking the route of other designers and just doodling on the handles or adding metal to the blade, he actually mixes up the formula. (See Bali-axe)

There is a Neogaf Thread on great and weird game art on the net today. My favorites from that thread:
Here is a cool video for Trent Reznor's (NIN) side project How to Destroy Angels. It was directed by Rupert Sanders. It looks like it may have been filmed with a Canon DSLR, but it could be a Red camera, as well. If someone knows for sure, send a link with the info.
I made this cake a few weeks ago and it was insanely delicious! yum yum layers.
How can you not love David Beckham, Snoop Dogg and Daft Punk all in the classic cantina scene?
They might seem strange, odd, or unusual, but these lego fanatics are simply cool in my eyes. Directed by Jess Gibson, this nearly 30 minute documentary is shot and edited as well as the LEGO creations contained within.
Not entirely done with LEGOs but they have a major role as catalyst in this short film done by Blue Source a directing duo represented by MJZ.
I can't help but feel this video is genius. In the beginning it seems CGI, but quickly you realize its all done with practical camera and effects. Shows what can be done when you are clever.
A super cool anonymous woman rocks at playing the guitar... upside-down. I don't know about you, but I have yet to see a style quite this unique. That hand rolling move is awesome. Previously, 13-Year-Old Guitarist Wows Guitar Pros... and Yoko Ono.
The first in a four-part very slick min-series which follows a select group of surfers on a boat trip through Indonesia’s Mentawai Islands.
Wow, ToastyKitten, you found the recipe !! Awesome.

I loved The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay for so many reasons. For its fantastical sense of adventure, set against the real world action and tragedy of the Jews in Europe during World War Two. I loved the opening chapters of Josef in Prague – a city I spent several months in a few years ago and one of the most beautiful places I’ve been. Reading scenes set in Prague and descriptions of places I’ve seen made the story that much more personal for me.

In the DIY community, much is said about the versatility of duct tape. But it's hardly the only game in town. For proof, one needn't look any further than the impressive, diverse tape sculptures submitted to Scotch's second-annual Off the Role tape sculpture competition.
This summer if you are in New York get yourself in some rubber soled shoes, buy a timed ticket in advance and run to the rooftop of The Met for The Big Bambu. It’s green, literally. It’s made from one of the most sustainable materials around. And it’s even recyclable! And you can walk through it!
Loving Breakbot’s newest single, Baby I’m Yours, featuring Irfane. But I'm even more impressed by the music video. Created by Irina Dakeva (of Wizz Design), the rotoscope animation was tediously made with over 2,000 watercolor paintings. Check out motionographer's interview with Irina on her process. Previously, Björk Rides Magnificent Waves of Clay.
