A whole salt-crusted fish? What does that mean? You basically cook a whole fish in a blanket of salt. Well, it's not just salt, but it's mostly salt. You bake it and then you remove the crusted salty layer before eating. You then remove the fish skin to get to the edible goodies. The salt basically dries out the skin so you can remove it.

Sometimes, these are error logs that can show attackers trying various SQL injection vectors over and over. This is especially so if they are using an automated framework like sqlmap that can spam a ton of requests in a short time. More often than not, the access logs are what most amate...

Kitzykk shows how to craft mini Pocky stick boxes for dolls in this video. She starts with a real Pocky stick box and carefully opens the box on all ends before unfolding it to lie flat. Using a printer and scanner, she scans a picture of the unfolded Pocky box and drags the scanned image into a program such as MS Word. Once the image is sized perfectly in the program, she prints it onto a sheet of white paper and it is an exact miniature replication of the original. Kitzykk then carefully cu...
This film will show you how to select fish for a cold water temperate aquarium. It will help you decide which types to choose and how many to keep in your tank. The type and number of fish you can keep will depend on the size of your tank. An easy formula for calculating how many fish you can keep is to multiply the length of the tank by the width to get the surface area, and then divide this number by 60. There are several species of cold water fish, also known as temperate fish, which can b...

For most people, New Year's Eve means watching the ball drop in Times Square. It means celebrating the New Year with friends and family. Interested in taking a few snapshots of the likely auroras from the recent solar flare the Sun sent our way?
NASA reports that the sun erupted late last night with a large solar flare—an M8.7 class flare. The classification is calculated according to the peak flux of 100 to 800 picometer x-rays near Earth measured from the GEOS weather satellite. There are 5 letter classifications for solar flares, each with a linear 1-9 number scale of severity. M is the fourth most powerful class, with X leading the way. But last night's earth-directed coronal mass ejection (CME), captured by the Solar Dynamics Ob...
Erik Demaine is a Professor of Electronic Engineering and Comp Sci at MI, but he is also an origami folder who has had work displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. He makes some beautiful models and intricate puzzles, but in my opinion the really inspirational work is the curved creased models. In Erik's own words describing the above models: "Each piece in this series connects together multiple circular pieces of paper (between two and three full circles) to make a large circular ramp ...

Some of his sculptures contain hundreds of pulleys all working in harmony with each other to create sinusoidal waves and their resulting interference patterns. He designs them all on paper and does all of the complicated trigonometric calculations by hand. Everything is mechanical; there are no electronic controllers.

Google's hard at work beefing up their new Google+ social network, and while they continue to improve new features like Circles and Hangouts, they haven't lost track of their other online features already widely in use. If you're already a part of the Google+ project (currently closed to invites right now), you've probably noticed the changes in Picasa Web, but Gmail has been getting some great updates as well—and you don't have to be in the Google+ network to use them.

Thankfully, there's another option for sorting and playing your iTunes library. It's a unique iPad-only application for those of us who want something more visually stimulating, something otherworldly—something galactic.
The iPad has established itself as "the" tablet computer for gadgeteers on the go. But Google is giving Apple a run for their money as Android tablets improve with each new release. Motorola XOOM and Samsung Galaxy are among the top dogs competing against the iPad, along with another from ASUS, which just became available yesterday in the United States—selling out in mere minutes.
