A playlist is simply a list of songs which can be played in sequential or shuffled/random order. Many people tailor-make playlists to suit a particular style of music or atmosphere, so being able to share these between people is great.

Increasingly, I'm turning to Google+ as a source of news, and it looks like I'm not the only one. On Thursday, news of a small earthquake broke on both Twitter and Google+. One curious user, +Keith Barrett, decided to try and find out which social network was faster with the news. Turns out it was a tie. As Google integrates Google+ more closely with the rest of its services, and more users post relevant stories, I think we'll start to see Google+ as a place that can create and break stories,...
Welcome to the second Null Byte in a series educating you on Social Engineering awareness and techniques. Today, I'm going to show you how a saavy Social Engineer would trick a friend into unknowingly surrendering their Facebook password. This is the first thing I have ever built for a weekly challenge. I am a big sci-fi fan so I just had to jump in on this one.
It's commonly known that Bethesda games, at launch, are usually the most buggy games to ever leave the hands of any developer. Fallout: New Vegas used to delete people's save files, it was that bad. But then there are the fairly harmless ones that make a dude's head spin when he's talking to you, or discovering that the land of Skyrim is actually larger than you think it is.
Age doesn't matter in the world of programming, only skills, and recent high school grad Jack Eisenmann definitely has them. He recently built a homebrew 8-bit computer from scratch, calling it the DUO Adept. A worn television makes up the monitor and speaker system, an old keyboard acts as the input controller and the actual computer itself is housed inside a clear Rubbermaid container, consisting of 100 TTL chips and a ton of wire.
"Mind Your Step" is a gargantuan street illusion staged in Stockholm's most public square, Sergels torg. Created by artist Erik Johansson, the illusion will be up until June 12th, so swing by if you happen to be in Sweden. Erik has documented his entire creative process here, including this great little tutorial on how to create your own optical illusion.
This Guy Has My MacBook is a gripping tale for iOS nerds far and wide, documented via interaction designer Joshua Kaufman's tumblr. When Kaufman's MacBook was stolen from his apartment in Oakland, CA, on March 21, 2011, he quickly activated Hidden, a previously installed app that enabled Kaufman to collect photos of the thief, as well as screen shots of the computer in use.
Area 51 is the most secretive military base in the United States, a base that U.S. government officials to this day still barely acknowledge because of its top secret development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems. But a slew of Cold War-era documents have finally been declassified, and National Geographic has discovered a rather low-tech method the military used to hide its high-tech prototypes.
While some parents prefer to preserve an element of surprise upon delivery of their baby, most choose to learn the sex from their doctor as soon as they can. More recently, some are even opting for a more "festive" route: announcement in the form of a "gender party", where the boy-or-girl status is revealed in cake form for the first time—not only to the guests, but also to the parents.
Have you ever felt the desire to reach out and touch a galaxy? Or "feel" those stunning nebulas and planets you see in Hubble photos? As alluring as it sounds, it's safe to say the odds of your whim coming true are nonexistent. You'd have to travel about 6 earth years and spend millions of dollars building your own personal spacecraft to get close enough to actually wave your hand through one of Saturn's rings. But in an attempt to help the blind "see" what they're missing, some semblance of ...
Hard disk problems are quite common these days, and when they fail you have no other option but to replace it. Fortunately, Ubuntu has been designed to run on your USB stick!
A Parisian street artist anonymously known as JR—his pervasive works feature massive photographs of poor urban residents plastered across the cityscape—was awarded the 2011 TED prize some months ago.

Incredible. There's a type of sand (found only on the small Okinawan island of Iriomote) in which each grain resembles a tiny star. And I never would have known, if it hadn't been for blogger Jason Kottke's pal Mouser. Mouser collects sand from all around the world, and then documents each sample with a macro lens:

Ever heard of Nürburgring? If you're an auto racing enthusiast, you likely have. According to Wikipedia, the racetrack was nicknamed "The Green Hell" by Jackie Stewart (famed Scottish racing driver) and is known as "the toughest, most dangerous and most demanding purpose-built racing circuit in the world". Located in Germany, the older track was first built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains.

You might know the feeling: the sinking stomach that informs you something terrible has happened. You click on your trash bin. Nothing is there. Your hard drive has been wiped clean.
Gone are the days of needing a specialized app or program to unzip files. In fact, you don't even need a computer. It's 2019 — cars drive themselves, robots take fast food orders, and you can unzip compressed files right on your iPhone.
You're scrolling wrong. Kind of a weird accusation, isn't it? But you are. If you're still scrolling through long pages on your iPhone swipe after swipe, you're simply wasting time. In my last article, I discussed: How to install xampp
In the past, marking up an email attachment, like a PDF or photo, required either using a third-party app or leaving it to edit later on a computer. Now, thanks to a feature in iOS 9, email attachments can quickly be annotated on the go from within the actual email on your iPad or iPhone.
This is a followup from my recent series on XSS exploitation, giving a few extra attacks/tricks to try.
As reported by Android Geeks, the Verizon variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will finally see its update to Android 4.4 KitKat. Based on the leaked image of an internal Verizon document, the update (OTA) will be released on May 2nd. This comes about two months after all other U.S. variants have seen their much maligned update, including AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.
Staples may be an office staple when it comes to joining sheets of paper together, but they're a pain in the ass if you ask me. They're annoying to take out, you can't shred 'em, and they eventually loosen up. Plus, staplers tend to stop working right when you need them the most.
Attention folks—the Samsung Galaxy S4 is coming soon to a cellular provider near you. Though the official release date for the GS4 here in the states has been closely guarded, a recent leak from a Staples store training document has revealed some possible days that the GS4 could land in your hands—and it's not that far away! Here's the rundown, but remember, none of these dates have been confirmed by Samsung or any of the providers.
PDF files are awesome because they're easy to share and they prevent the format on your document from being messed up, no matter what system or program it's opened in. Their biggest downside, though, is how difficult they are to edit or change once they're made.
Just as how plastic grocery bags have many amazing reuses if you have a whole bunch of them stocked up in your home, the same goes for their papery counterparts as well.
Facebook recently added some features to its Messages, Chat and Groups that a lot of people have found to be somewhat sketchy. Facebook's "read receipts" tell people exactly who has viewed posts and messages, so you can no longer get away with the old, trusted excuse of "What message?"
In this Adobe Acrobat video tutorial you will learn how to use the Rubber Stamp Tool. You use the Stamp tool in Acrobat 5 to apply a stamp to an Adobe PDF document in much the same way you would use a rubber stamp on a paper document. In addition to the standard stamps offered, dynamic stamps obtain information from your system and from the Identity panel of the Preferences dialog box, allowing you to indicate name, date, and time information on the stamp. Make sure to hit "play tutorial" in ...
