Most likely you have planned one or two flights of stairs from your deck to the surrounding yard. Steps can be built a number of different ways depending on your aesthetic preference, however most municipalities have specific codes that must be taken into consideration when you design and build your steps. For instance, many cities require a minimum width of 3 feet for the stairs.
Roof ventilation principles are very straightforward -- a cool attic is a happy attic! You need to create a flow of air that enters the overhang of your roof through soffit vents, then flows straight up through the rafters and out through a ridge vent. To help facilitate airflow, it may be necessary to install a thermostat-controlled exhaust fan.
Planning on going kiteboarding this weekend? Take a look at this instructional video and learn how to perform the impressive looking misty flip revert on your kiteboard. Rickard Strongert explains that the secret to using a backspin trick shot is hiding a golf ball in your pocket. You must put two balls together in a bunker and line them up in the direction you are planning to hit the shot. You have to use your sand wedge, take a full swing, and make sure that the club head makes full contact with the ball before touching the sand. Use backspin in golf.
Why Changing Your Wiper Blades Is Important The last thing you want is to get caught in a storm and discover that your windshield wiper blades do not properly keep the water, snow, or ice off your windshield. Not only will this be annoying, but could also lead to an auto accident.
3 Effective Techniques for Following Up With Leads The follow-up phase of the sales cycle is like having a goldfish for a pet, in that it's easy to forget about it, especially compared with the excitement of finding new sales leads. This is unfortunately, though, because you can outperform your competitors by following up with leads and encouraging them to choose your business.
New to eBay? Don't worry, setting up an account and buying and selling doesn't take that much effort at all. Everyone who has an Internet connection has at one point come across eBay, to find the perfect gift for their loved ones, to find the cheapest deals on plasma televisions and computers, or to get rid of their dusty, old record album collection in their web store.
The possibilities are endless for 3D printing. With your very own 3D printer, you can make spare parts, circuit boards, inflatable balloons, duplicate keys, Minecraft cities, and even tiny replicas of your face. From a more artsy standpoint, you can make complex sculptures, like this cool mathematical sculpture of thirty interwoven hexagons by Francesco De Comite:

Choosing a camera, perhaps one of the most difficult decisions there is when it comes to photography. But being a great photographer on a budget isn't as hard as you think. It gets a little intimidating when you're looking at all these DSLR Canon and Nikon cameras. (By the way "DSLR" just means "Digital Single-Lens Reflex") But you don't NEED a big, bulky, expensive camera like those. Granted they are amazing cameras and you def. get what you pay for. But let's face it, the normal "just as a ...

I recently shot a short film for director Keegan Uhl for Canon’s Beyond the Still contest and our film “The Beach” won first place. We had a lot of fantastic support getting the film done, and I’m really glad to see people liked what we put together. Keegan put in a ton of work and it’s always rewarding to win something like this, especially when the film was done all out-of-pocket. My Gaffer on the film, Matt Irwin was awesome as well. He provided a lot of his own equipment, and even provide...

The Toronto International Film Festival is but a distant memory, though we are still getting compliments on all the awesome footage we shot, both for our Midnight Madness coverage and interviews with directors like Don Coscarelli and Rob Stewart. But here's the thing - we had big, large help. Even though we've been at it for 5 years, shooting an event like TIFF is never easy! It's hectic and unpredictable and as a result, getting good looking footage can be difficult if you don't have the rig...
Stunt fighting. It ain't rocket science. There's no way this Star Trek scene between Captain Kirk and this dino-monster could be worse. It's plain awful. Come on Shatner, we know you can fight! No excuses. Stunt fighting. It ain't rocket science. There's no way this Star Trek scene between Captain Kirk and this dino-monster could be worse. It's plain awful. Decorating With Entertainment in Mind Sure, when you're throwing a party it's easy to put up balloons and streamers, but it's easy to forget one of the most important things: memories. You know all that money you spent on entertainment? The clown? The magician? You're naturally going to want to snap some photos, but if you don't decorate properly, the photos will be bland. And that's just one of the potential problems.
Unfortunately, toxic and belligerent people are not as avoidable as we would like for them to be. They show up in our work place, schools, neighborhoods—sometimes even within our own circle of friends and family members. The best we can do is minimize our interactions with them and plan for exit strategies to cut the conversation short. If an interaction is avoidable because the person is your boss or family member, then arm yourself with a few verbal defense moves to keep yourself from getti...
This is Episode one of our new show/series of "Minecraft: Hardcore Objective". In this episode we will be trying out a little design that flag made up in around 20min. This video production was released in coordination with the 2009 job posting for Army National Guard “Internment Specialists” that Kurt Nimmo reported on at the time. (The original post has been conspicuously removed since then). Notice that the job description, title and duties all seem to match the terminology used in the leaked document FM 3-39.40: INTERNMENT AND RESETTLEMENT OPERATIONS (at Army p/w protected link) outlining the plan to set up camps both globally and domestically (Yes, the...
Infowars has a great new article on the myths of 'limited war'. It's a great read. Here are some excerpts:
If you're a beer lover, you can enjoy your passion even more by incorporating your favorite beer flavors into your next cooking experiment. Beer can be included in recipes for meat marinades, frying batter, chili, soups, bread and even dessert. And if you're concerned about getting drunk from these recipes, fear not—most of the alcohol will evaporate in the cooking process. But your dish will be left with a rich, earthy flavor that can only come from beer.

After becoming addicted to basic sonobe modular origami, I decided to make ornaments for relatives as Christmas gifts. I tried using fancy paper from stores like Paper Source, and cutting it to proper origami size, but I could never get the tight folds I wanted with non-traditional, non-origami paper. I ended up using this metallic origami paper that folds beautifully, and I'm pretty happy with the tiny models I ended up with. Forgive these pictures (iPhone/Instagram), I don't have my regular...

I'm planning on taking some High Definition time lapse video of the darkening and reddening that will occur.

Different genres of social media have changed the world, but they are not omnipotent. In most cases this is a good thing, but not in the case of Operation Rainfall. It has been a purely well meaning social media movement that should have led to a great boon for the North American gamer public, but instead has served as a reminder of how stone aged Nintendo of America's (NOA) corporate thinking remains.
This amazing Star Wars Sand Crawler is built entirely out of legos. Includes lighted eyes of the Jawas and a working crane to life the droids.

Just enter your location and dodge those little red markers (re: zombies) on the map. As you move with the arrows, zombies come at you from all directions (choose your level: Easy, Normal, Hard, I Am Death Incarnate) and try to eat your brain. The game is in beta, and you can currently play it on Google Chrome. H...
