So the Canon 5d mkII, iirc, can shoot video that looks like 35mm film, due to its huge sensor and ability to use all of the Canon still lenses. The Canon XH-A1 can't do that. The Casio Exilim ex-f1 can shoot up to 1200 fps looking... ok well not so hot but seems to look good at slightly less fast framerates, letting moms and dads shoot slo-mo video in their backyards. The Canon XH-A1 can't do that. Of course folks have to go through a big rigamarole to get sound synched with the 5d and it has...

I'm somewhat of a skeptic when it comes to the "advantages" (the quotation marks should indicate the tone I'm taking) of a new ball. What's wrong with having a man made ball with slight imperfections and differences? So much of the game depends on the moment (of truth or shame) and everything leading up to it anyways, that to bring technology into different areas of the sport seems like tiny steps into that ever looming 5th referee and instant replays that will take the human factor out of th...
This video demonstrates the production process of the Jabulani ball that will make its debut at the World Cup this year.
Here is a chart I created which indicates what each baby will grow up into when it is placed in the Nursery Barn. I made brownies a few days ago with both a new recipe, and a new cocoa powder. I'd previously been using the Scharffen Berger unsweetened cocoa. However, I couldn't find it in the store, and I bought and used the Green & Black's Organic Cocoa Powder instead. Not only is it organic, but it's also fair trade! I was blown away by the results. The brownies came out much richer, with a great chocolate flavor, and a little bit of bitterness that counteracted the richness. And judging from the lefto...

Bill Caswell, we salute you. You bring true glory to the D.I.Y. world. Jalponik reports:
I bought a canon 7D and used it for an entire weekend. I noticed it dropped frames much more than my Canon 5D. There were many more aliasing problems with fine detail in the background. The camera is just plain awful in low light situations. Anything above 400 ISO I was getting too much noise to deal with. The only thing it was great at was taking lots of stills at a high rate of speed. This feature is great for certain types of sports photography. Overall I was very unhappy with the ...

Tin cans have resin linings that contain bisphenol-A (BPA), which has been linked in animal lab testings to a number of ailments that include reproductive problems, heart disease, and obesity. Tomatoes are high in acidity, which means that the content of canned tomatoes eats away at the resin lining, which causes BPA to leach into what you eat. Long story short: avoid canned tomatoes at all costs.
