Our very last Phone Snap! challenge is all about having a little fun, so start practicing your goofiest faces. Congratulations to Katie Howell for her colorful triptych, Christmas Colors, the winning shot of our Phone Snap Holiday Challenge!
Scrabble Bingo of the Day: HELLEBORE [n] A hellebore is any of the approximately 20 plants from the genus Helleborus, many of which are poisonous. Hellebores are herbaceous perennial flowering plants from Eurasia related to the buttercup family, having showy flowers with petaloid sepals.
This is probably the least "Mathy" thing I will ever post. In my opinion, it's impossible to have architecture that isn't mathematical in some sense, so I am posting it anyway. Two years ago, I made a papercraft version of a cathedral in Christchurch New Zealand (It was severely damaged in an earthquake earlier this year) and cut holes for all of the windows and lit it with LED lights. I gave it to my Mom as a Christmas gift. I thought it made for a pretty amazing "Christmas Village" piece.
The first Phone Snap challenge has come to an end and we have a winner! Congratulations to Rob Sawyer, for his funny and creative spin on the infamous Play-Doh character, "Mr. Bill gone MAD!!!".
I'm so Proud of YouThe novels cover would have made a much more interesting poster I think.
Think you're more green by going artificial? Think again. The New York Times reports that the most definitive study shows you would have to use your artificial tree for 20 years before it has less impact on the environment than a real tree.
Every Christmas tree needs a topper, but most of them are boring and generic. If you want something a little more unique, making it yourself is a great way to go, and a DIY Weeping Angel topper is a good twist on a classic, but not everyone is a Dr. Who fan.
Do you know anyone that's infatuated with themselves and is currently in need for some good speakers? No? Well, just in case you do, here's a neat Christmas present idea for your narcissistic speaker-less friend. But, let's be realistic—why would you make these for anybody but yourself?
Last year, I wrote a post on "10 Thrifty DIY Christmas Gift Ideas" for people looking to get crafty during the gift-giving season. It seemed only right to do a followup this year with 10 more ideas!
First Off I Uploaded That Pic, cuz I Rock That Hat Better Then Knoxville Himself ! :D Anyway .... Alright, So maybe not the most "Gnarly" prank ever, but I think it would be f-ing sweet !!

Taken at the Toronto Eaton Centre using an iPhone and Hipstamatic 231 app, James M lens and Ina's 1969 film. The radial spin was created on camera by quickly turning the phone clockwise. I didn't think it was possible since I had no control whatsoever with shutter speed or aperture and what not. No post-processing done except resizing in Photoshop CS 5.
Spoof of the Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows movie poster just in time for Christmas!
Nostalgia to me is watching "A Charlie Brown Christmas" with my Mom. RIP Mom! miss you!
This image is particularly Nostalgic to me, as this near 30-ft. tall Santa statue not only gave me the gift of some unusually early thoughts of Christmas, but also some much needed relief from the sizzling summer heat...
It's a little late for Halloween, but I'm thinking about making a creepy lawn ornament for the Holidays. Nothing says Christmas cheer like something a little weird.
I used an iPhone4 and the app DPX. Both photos were shot with Camera+, my favorite default camera.
Taken with Samsung Epic 4G Touch (Galaxy S II) used Little Photo to "Double Expose". I used to do this for real with an old camera on Black & White Film this is so much easier :-)
Based off these instructions posted up by Justin Meyers of Scrabble World. I made it out of Glossy Photo Paper so it is really shiny.
