To make this English delight, you will need: 2 1/4 cups pitted dates, 2 cups cold water, 3 teaspoons baking soda, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1 1/4 cups sugar, 3 teaspoons vanilla extract, 2 teaspoons salt, 3 eggs, 1 3/4 cups flour, 2 cups light brown sugar, 2 cups heavy cream and fresh berries to garnish.
