We've all tried writing with lemon juice (a.k.a. invisible ink). It's a mess. And the main draw back is definitely efficiency.
You know it's crazy out there when governments start blocking social websites like Facebook, Twitter and even YouTube. But that's what happened in Egypt, when tens of thousands of anti-government protesters took to the streets on Tuesday (January 25th) in hopes of ending President Hosni Mubarak's 30 years of authoritarian power.
This week's review roundup is a diverse lot. They really only have two things in common—their indie origins and puzzle elements. Otherwise, they come from France, Spain and the U.S., a few from unknown designers and one by the guy who inspired Minecraft.
Adding and subtracting may be the easiest of mathematical operations, but once you get it down, multiplication and division can be just as easy. That's why it's called elementary arithmetic. If it were harder, it would be called college algebra or trigonometry. But it's not— it's basic math, and once you get your head around the numbers, you'll never hate math class again! (Okay, maybe you will.)
This week's experiment has made the rounds through the Internet as a strange trick, but there is science here too. We are going to use the science of complex systems to confuse your body. To try this, you will need:
Colorful, with complex flavors and an aromatic scent, this cocktail is a treat for all the senses. You will need: 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water and 2-3 crushed cinnamon sticks to make the cinnamon syrup; and then 6-8 sage leaves, 1 ounce of cinnamon syrup, 3/4 an ounce blood orange juice, 1/4 ounce lemon juice, 1 1/2 ounces tequila, a dash of Peychaud's bitters and ice to make the cocktail. Make a La Adelita cocktail out of blood orange juice and tequila.
Salsa is not salsa without one of the signature salsa moves, spinning. If you're male (the lead) then you'll be doing fewer spins, whereas if you're the female then expect to be twirling around and around in your partner's arms.

CHICAGO (AP) — To some, Cabrini-Green's infamous high-rises were a symbol of urban blight — towering testaments to the failure of Chicago public housing to give safe shelter to the poorest of the poor.
This Revit software tutorial covers how to add angle parameters. In this case we put them in a curtain panel to break from such an orthogonal grid. Here they a tilted mullions but one could imagine using a curtain system just and a construction grid then using face based families for more complex systems on top of the grid. Watch and learn how to add angle parameters to curtain panels in Revit. Add angle parameters to curtain panels in Revit.

The Surface modifier in Autodesk's 3ds Max generates a patch surface based on the contours of a spline network. A patch is created wherever the segments of the interwoven splines form a three- or four-sided polygon. The Surface modifier and the CrossSection modifier, taken together, are referred to as Surface Tools. They allow you to create complex or organic surfaces, like the fuselage of a plane, or a three-dimensional character.
In this quick tip for after effects users, CreativeCOW contributing editor, Bob Thompson creates a complex looking animation using only a camera, 3d layer, null object, and some duplicated layers. In only minutes, you can get an animated look with only one layer to worry about to control the motion. It's a quick fix to let you spend more time on other facets of your project workflow. Create an animation in one layer in After Effects.
Stress happens because is part of being alive. We all experiences stress even our pets. Stress is there to keep us alert; there are two main types of stress short-term stress and long-term stress. Short term could be (example) when there is a fire you flight or fight response will turn on. You will either stay there of look for your safety. A long-term stress could be the stress that you might deal with a lot of the time from work to your home. It is the complex problems that it seems you can...
Quite often I work on projects that require a lot of waiting around for glue or solvents to dry. It was in such a time that I came up with this little crossbow. I saw that some of the top search engine requests were how to make paper weaponry, and yet there were few results worth viewing. I then sat down and got to work. This crossbow uses tension on bent tubes of printer paper to throw a pencil or pen a very respectable distance, upwards of 50 feet. Paper tubes when bent in such a way would ...
Welcome to Minecraft World! Check out our advanced tutorials and come play on our free server. Long ago some smart folks figured out how to make water, lava, and some blocks do the mob killing for them. More recently, with the addition of redstone, these mechanisms for resource collection have gotten rather complex.
Oooh. Since I already eliminated myself, I can just fill up the corkboard. Ok. I really won't do that. But I had to share this one. I think this is my favorite abstract light painting. This was taken in Las Vegas. I think this was using lights from one of the hotels in the Mandalay bay complex. 15 second exposure I think.
So very pointless, yet unquestionably spectacular. The best kind of "art" performs no other function than to delight the viewer, and Japanese YouTube user Denha's complex marble machines do just that. But are marble machines art? You can call them that—or toys, scientific contraptions, engineering feats—but however you choose to label them, the best marble machines are complicated, skillfully crafted, and driven by the principles of potential energy, kinetic energy and gravity.
A testament of man vs. machine will air on February 14th, 15th, and 16th when IBM's supercomputer "Watson" is pitted against the world's fiercest Jeopardy players, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, for a chance to win a cool $1 million. It took researchers four years to build Watson, a machine mastermind the size of ten refrigerators and equipped with complex algorithms capable of decoding the complexities of the human language (no small feat). Watch below as Watson kicks ass in a practice round ...
Artist Sarah Yakawonis uses a technique called quilling to craft complex anatomy art with paper. Quilling, as defined by Wikipedia: "The use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. The paper is glued at the tip and the coil shaped, these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork."
It's what every baker needs. If only this were a cake decorating appliance for sale at Williams-Sonoma, instead of a one of a kind art machine showcased at this year's Vienna Design Week, created by mischer'traxler.
Below is race driver Ken Block demonstrating the sport of gymkhana. He pulls some crazy tricks, but best of all is the 360 degree donut he does inside a building. The video starts to warm up around a minute in, and gets truly nuts around 3:00. (Gymkhana is a similar to autocross, except the courses are very complex and must be memorized by the driver to achieve best time. Obstacles include cones, tires, and barrels; drivers are challenged to perform "reversals, 180 degree spins, 360 degree sp...
This is one serious example of trophy architecture. Extreme engineering in prosperous countries like this one in Singapore is meant to stir envy. The Marina Bay Sands infinity pool opened this month, and is located 200 meters off the ground, 150 meters in length. The entire hotel complex is part of a $5 billion investment, and the opposite of a DIY sensibility.
I like learning new stuff and what I learn share with others. I have a great interest in making movies, acting, stopframe animation, editing, playing the drums, clowning, balloon modelling, gardening, wine making. I love working with children and young adults.
