Ricky Ficarelli does some rather good editing for his duel drum kit cover of Lady Gaga's Telephone. I was initially hoping it was twins and not one guy.... bummer. But the mix is cool. Not Travis Barker cool, but alright.
Here is a pretty cool video of Ringo Star talking about his drumming style in an interview, its pretty interesting, check it out!
This is a 20 minute set of the Dead Weather from a site called From The Basement. This band is really crazy, but my favorite part of it is by far Jack White on drums, i think he really lays it down for the rest of the band.
Here is the link to the myspace of the band (I play drums) that I'm in called Animal Husbandry. The live recordings are from a show that we did for this benefit concert and the House of Blues. The quality isnt too good, and you cant hear the drums too well but you can get the idea. Tell me what you think.
... Describing the style of John Bonham's drumming instantly conjurs up visions of the thunderous power he created. His contributions to rock music were revolutionary, and his talent unmatched and irreplaceable. You can only imagine Jimmy Page's reaction to first seeing him in 1968, ending his search for a new drummer to form a new band, the New Yardbirds (later renamed Led Zeppelin.)
Diego Stocco is back (previously, the incredible Music From a Tree). This time Stocco has created the experibass:
So you want to export the individual instruments played in Superior Drummer as audio files? Easy! Here’s a step by step way to do it. For this tutorial, I’ll be using Cubase 5.

Learn how to encorporate the barking Hi-Hat effect in your drumming. Drummer Darren Matthes gives an excellent breakdown for when to hit the cymbal, when to close it, and how to add this sound into a variety of beats. Play barking Hi-Hats.

If you want to put a fire pit in your backyard, but don't want to spend a lot of time or money on it, this $10 DIY Upcycled Fire Pit designed by Sarah and Joe over on House & Fig is the perfect weekend project. It's simple, looks great, and shouldn't take much more than an hour to put together. You can pick up a washing machine drum from a used appliance store, and you'll also need a few pieces of steel for the legs and a can of high-heat paint.

This is the personal blog for the maker of the Monster Tubulum. The section this link is pointing to is the FAQ's for people who want to build their own PVC instruments.
There's been a proliferation of pitched PVC xylophones in recent times, but a lot of them end up being somewhat cumbersome when it comes to actually get good sound quality. This guy has come up with the solution by making strange drum skins over the ends of the pipes. The result is a super cool sound coming out of a ridiculously cool-looking instrument.
All hail artist, programmer and human electrocution music-machine, Daito Manabe. He's back, and better than ever: Read more about his process.

Them Crooked Vultures: The Super SuperGroup So glad Dave Grohl's back on drums.
Here is a video of what i think is an awesome drummer, his full name is Martin Luther King Chavez Dosh. He doese really interesting stuff because he loops his drum tracks so that he can overlap different beats, and create cymphonies of percussion! i think hes great, he's played alot with Andrew Bird, one of my favorite artists, check it out.
This is one of my favorite instructional videos, short but sweet. I really do suggest putting tape on your drums if they don't sound too good. If they kind of ring out or have too much of an echo sound, just muffle them down with tape like he says and it gives them a much more raw, deep sound. Levon's the best, you gotta love him.
With financial sanctions against it getting tighter and tighter and the drums of war beating louder and louder, Iran appears to be getting proactive -- at least on the food front. As Reuters reports, Tehran is busy stockpiling grain in anticipation of the sanctions' effect on daily life. To Cope with American-led Sanctions, Iran stockpiling US Wheat | EurasiaNet.org.
Nik Ramage creates low tech, absurd mechanical objects that perform mundane every-day tasks (from blowing out candles to walking down the street to drumming your fingers out of boredom). Click through to Ramage's site to see more of his work. Five of his pieces below:
Hardwood floors in older homes can be hidden treasures. You may not realize it, but under the dark finish, scuffs and scratches is probably a beautiful hardwood floor just waiting to shine through. Sanding off the old finish gives you a chance to get down to the bare wood and erase many of the scratches and dents. Then you can choose a stain that is more to your liking, or just put a clearcoat on the floor for a pleasant, warm appearance.
It's more addictive than Angry Birds, perhaps as relaxing as transcendental meditation, and satisfyingly simpler than GarageBand. It's Otomata, a newly programmed generative sequencer designed by Batuhan Bozkurt, a Turkish sound artist, computer programmer, and performer. But really, it's best described as an audio/visual music toy that anybody can play online—with beautiful results.

Blue crabs are the bait of choice for many Florida anglers targeting Tarpon, Black Drum and other Florida species. Blue crabs can be rigged cut in half or whole.
Fiddler crabs are great bait for many Florida fish but most widely used to catch sheepshead. A small hook is needed when using these small crabs as bait, a size 1 - 1/0 is best for this.
Daito Manabe is awesome. Last we heard of him, he was setting up Japanese school girls with glow-in-the-dark grills. Before that, he was playing himself like a human drum kit. And before that, he was just plain old electroshocking himself. In his most recent appearance, he takes his electro-pulsed facial twitches to the stage, with fellow artist Ei Wada, before an audience at Berlin’s Transmediale Festival.
The release of Tron: Legacy is just two weeks away, and if our in depth guide to Tron-a-Sutra didn't get you revved up, perhaps the street legal Tron Light Cycle will. Via Wired:
If you have a fear of needles, you may want to sit this one out. Billed as an "analog answer for the digitalized DJ," this five-arm turntable plays an ode to the lock groove. What's a lock groove? Glad you asked. Whereas normal grooves lead the stylus in toward the label of the record, lock or "locked" grooves form a perfect circuit, looping around on themselves forever and ever. Throw in a few extra tone arms as London-based artist Yuri Suzuki has done and you've got yourself a full-featured...

If you partake in the mashup/remix/sampling mania, you may be familiar with Philadelphia's Chiddy Bang. Their beats are a sweet marriage of their own original hip hop + sampling of bands like Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Passion Pit, and MGMT.
I just started listening to these guys and I'm really liking them. they have two drummers and they really make the most of it. I was just recently thinking about how cool it would be to have a band with two drummers. It opens up the doors to so many other awesome beats that one drummer just cant take care of. So here is a video of Pick A Piper live, you can skip the first half cause it takes a while for the drums to really come in. Its also really sweet when they share the crash symbol. I lov...
Lasse Gjertsen is a pretty cool dude. I know he's not really playing these drums so it doesnt really count, but he comes up with some really cool beats. Its really inspiring to me just to hear a beat that he creates. He is a young man from Norway, hes great with film and editing, and thats how he creates these videos. He just films himself making different noises, and then goes back through the recording compiling the sounds in different combination's to make beats. It inspires me, and I love...
