We manage to eat everything from a pig's body, even if you aren't aware of it. For example, jello is made from the collagen of pig (sometimes cow) bones, hooves and connective tissue. But what about pig tails?

Outstanding advancements in medicine and super creepy Androids aren't the only jaw-dropping inventions out there. Every once in a while, an incredibly random—and at first glance, seemingly useless—device comes along and strikes a chord of strangely deep satisfaction. Behold, the SWITL, a mysterious goo-scraper robot hand created by factory equipment manufacturer Furukawa Kikou: From what I can glean from a very rough Google translation, it sounds like the SWITL was developed for food producti...

German artist Michael Sans Berlin taxidermied a somewhat sadistic homage to one of his nation's most traditional craft objects, the cuckoo clock (the first version was made in southwest Germany's Black Forest between 1740 and 1750).
Blizzard Cam, a 40 mph mobile spycam on skis, spies on a group of adorable polar bears (um, minus the blood stained faces) as they devour a pile of remains. Operated remotely, Snowball Cam is released from the Blizzard if scientists detect the bears may attack the device. The decoy can roll across most terrains (even up hill), and easily distracts the bears into a game of soccer. From a BBC TV program on polar bears.
Meet Matt Weathers, Biola University math professor and probable blood relative of Mary Poppins. Because, really, who but a Poppins could pull off a prank of this sort? Think Who Framed Roger Rabbit for the PowerPoint set. Or, better yet, see for yourself in the video gallery below:

Incredibly artfully done, KlairedelysArt's SFX Terminator makeup look creates the illusion of peeled back skin to reveal the Terminator beneath. Amazing Halloween look for a chick.
My favorite kind of violence: flower bullets and drops of petal blood. The bad guys encroach on the scene in a hippie VW bus, and flower bedlam ensues...

Plaster walls, although popular homebuilding materials, are notoriously easy to damage. Watch this video tutorial to learn how to repair these holes on your wall.
The obliques are used to assist with rotation of the torso, as well as basic abdominal contractions. This exercise is great if you want to target the oblique muscles. Unlike traditional abdominal exercises, the oblique twist works other muscle groups as well.
This exercise is great for shaping and strengthening the chest muscles. The chest is scientifically named the pectoralis. This muscle is used any time you push a chair up to the table, shut a car door, or push a shopping cart. There are two muscles that make up the pectoralis. They are the pectoralis major and minor. The pectoralis major is always the prime mover during chest exercises.

Vector graphics are ideal for simple or composite drawings that need to be device-independent or do not need to achieve photo-realism. This video takes a look at what types of manipulation to vector art are possible via Photoshop. Adam Hay really recommends using Illustrator to create vector art because Photoshop is not made to handle vector graphics, but if you want to do it, this video will show you how. Create vector art in Photoshop.
This video shows roller furling of a jib in 5 knots of wind. Mild tensing is kept on the jib's sheet to enable the jib to warp tightly around the headstay. In high wind conditions, this is best done in a deep running reach. The mainsail will tend to shield the jib from the wind. This will prevent excess luffing of the sail and make furling easier. In a pinch, you can always let the jib out, by loosening it's sheet and roll in the jib, but in high winds excess luffing may occur and this can da...
I am writing this quick post in response to the recent earthquakes and tsunamis that are affecting Japan. As soon as the news broke, and we began to hear of tsunami warning for our area, I immediately realized how under prepared I was for a natural disaster. The thing that drove this point home even deeper was the number of people asking me for advice on what they could do to prepare for the possibility that we are hit by one of the resultant tsunamis. Many thoughts raced through my mind, and...
Everybody loves a good fair ground ride and so why not give them something to panic about more than a few bloody pranks?

This weekend, I was on a trip to Binghamton. In the midst of unpacking my toiletries at the hotel, I found that my brand new razor blade had lost its cap. How did I find that out? Well, when I pulled my hand out of the bag, I found that my right pointer finger was missing a bit of its tip and dripping blood on everything. Thankfully, Nathan G. H. Shlivovitz was with me and knew what to do, but the experience helped me to realize that everyone needs a little first aid knowledge in life. Here a...
I saw this on the Food Network and tried it out. We loved it. It is a great way to use leftovers and with the holidays upon us, I know you'll want to try it. I think it was Jamie Oliver who presented it although I couldn't find it on the website. It was described as a common thing done in the UK as the evening meal after a Sunday lunch. It is great with leftover turkey, dressing, and potatoes and gravy. The name comes from the sounds that it makes when it cooks. When you put the patties in th...

The US judge handling the Megaupload case noted today that it may never be tried due to a procedural error, a comment that has sparked the anger of Megaupload’s founder. Kim Dotcom is furious with the US Government for destroying his businesses and rendering hundreds of people unemployed. According to Dotcom the case is the result of “corruption on the highest political level, serving the interests of the copyright extremists in Hollywood.”

Just a quick post. Xorg is the graphical server that handles the desktop environment you choose for your Linux box. A pretty big flaw was found in Xorg versions 1.11 and later that allows anyone to bypass the screen lock mechanism on xscreensaver, gscreensaver, and many others.
Posted below is an interesting video on the effects of low frequency square waveforms on cornstarch. To make, simply mix cornstarch and water, then place on a large speaker hooked up to an amplifier and a signal generator (generating around 20-30 hertz). An old stereo works great, as long as it has an aux-in. There is lots of free signal generating software at arms length, like this one. I found adding a little olive oil into the cornstarch mix makes it easier to handle, and contributes to th...
