Where would we be without science? Not everybody's always fresh as a daisy; try Odegon Technologies' iron-on "Odour Tags". When attached to clothing, the patches capture your odoriferous molecules in a carbon mesh. Somehow the patches don't come off in the wash and run about 18 bucks for a pack of six.
TV newscasters love to run stories about out of control parents fighting at youth sporting events. Here is an example of a story
Colleges Aren't Just for Learning Our favorite bloggers have compiled a fantastic list of the Top Ten Most Legendary College Pranks. Lots of the legendary hoaxes and wacky pranks come from the notorious Pail & Shovel Party.... And the one's that seem more like impossible feats? Well MIT is certainly great at using their genius for laughs.
Wedding themes are no rarity, but a SCRABBLE wedding? I never would have guessed, until I came across "10 Ways to Incorporate Scrabble Into Your Wedding" at CasaSugar. Now, I'm one of the biggest SCRABBLE nerds out there, but I could never see myself getting hitched amongst SCRABBLE tiles and SCRABBLE cakes and SCRABBLE cuff links. I'd also be afraid that none of my guests would actually come if they knew SCRABBLE was the theme. Hell, it's hard enough to get any of my friends to play a simple...
In the news this past couple of days, we've heard of about 10 Argentine hooligans being deported back to Argentina before the start of the World Cup. I'm glad for the South African authorities showing that they have a firm grasp of security leading up to Friday's kick-off, and that the inter-agency cooperation between countries was a serious one.
So as of now June 24th or whenever it is precisely that the new iPhone comes out, we'll likely be in a situation where two of the most popular, talked-about filmmaking tools will be non-traditional video cameras: the new 720p-shooting/cutting Apple Flip-smasher and the Canon 5d. I feel positively old fashioned, a dinosaur, an archaic wreck, stumbling about with my mammoth Canon XH-A1. I can't slip it into my pocket, I can't take the lens off and put a f/1.8 50mm on it and get kabonkers depth ...
French Canadian filmmaker Patrick Boivin's Iron Man parody, featuring his own baby daughter, is absolutely impeccably done. The special effects look FANTASTIC.
ESPN + ABC to Broadcast all 64 Games! This is AWESOME news. In the past we've struggled to get obscure matches broadcast on regular channels. For the first World Cup ever, the US will get every game on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC. The 2010 World Cup South Africa kicks off June 11 and the final match is July 11.
There are no spoilers in this writing, read without worry. Finished Episode 3 of Alan Wake yesterday, impressed by different reasons. I originally bought the game for the possibility of great story, dialogue, and voice acting. That part of the game has been disappointing. What has stood out from playing episodes 1 to 3 is the level design and game play.
Flash video. It's what all smartphone users have been waiting for. Why has it taken sooo long? And why is Apple still resistant?
To this day, the magnitude of Beatles mania is vast. For much of the world, the fabulous four are downright magical. Here on WonderHowTo we also enjoy the fine art of papercraft. So, why not combine the elaborate practice of paper construction with some good 'ol rock 'n' roll?

Robotics company Festo Bionics has released footage of a robotic manipulator arm modeled after an elephant's trunk. The first video in the gallery below is the concept animation; click on the second video to see the real thing in action. (Love how the grabbers hand off "giant peanuts" in the second video).
Cyclists and unknowing vehicle participants "collaborated" on a public guerilla graffiti art piece in Berlin this last week.
Royal College of the Arts student Merel Karhof has come up with an innovative way to harness natural resources: a wind knitting factory. Merel's device is a mechanical wind-powered knitting machine that sustainably produces long tubes of knitted material. Nice. I'd let the wind knit my scarves.
Ford Austin here....with a special report! I just arrived at the 2010 Starfest Convention in Denver, Colorado and I have to say it is AWESOME! We are at the Marriott Convention Center where they are holding Dahmer Vs Gacy Night at the Convention. We are attending a live band performance at about 8pm where the rumor is that band will be performing the Dahmer vs Gacy Original Theme song LIVE before the 10pm Dahmer vs Gacy screening. Tonight's screening kicks off the Official 1 year DAHMER V...
This is a photograph shot by Randy, owner of Horizons West Surf Shop in Santa Monica. He caught our local shark just off the coast of Sunset back in Fall 2009.
Motocross world record holder Robbie Maddison recently jumped a 278 foot wide ravine, 330 feet above the water. More than a little risky, to say the least.

Urban farming has gotten a bit of notice in the past few years. One of the most vocal advocates is local Tara Kolla, who runs Silver Lake Farms out of her home. Along with her and the support of passionate Los Angelenos, urban farming advocates won approval clarifying an ordinance on whether people can sell fruit and vegetables they grow in their yard.
A random article from India claims that Johnny Depp is actually more a funderwhacker than just as Alice in Wonderland's Mad Hatter.
Bill Caswell, we salute you. You bring true glory to the D.I.Y. world. Jalponik reports:
The average cost of a wedding cake is $543, according to The Bridal Association of America. The more people you need to feed and the more elaborate you want your cake to be, the more it will cost you.
Hello crowd! Welcome to one of the first WonderHowTo Worlds!!! We're huge fans of the 7D, but as fandom goes, we are no experts.
The itch chair, designed by Dana Gordon and Alejandro Zamudio Sánchez, is a futuristic chair that scratches the back of the sitter.
What do you do in those cold weather months, when your hands are warmly gloved and you can't bear exposing your poor fingers to the harsh elements? Apple didn't think of this problem when finessing their iPhone touchscreen, but not to worry, South Korea has the answer to this pesky problem.
Half-up hairstyles are a great way to get hair off the face, but still keep the look of having the hair down. Braids work well for curly hair which can easily slip out of hair-dos. Take a small section of hair on the side of the head and make a braid, and secure with a small hair band. Do the same thing on the other side. Now, take the two braids from both sides of the head, tie them to each other in the back and secure the knot with bobby pins. Watch this video hair styling tutorial and lear...
The possible harshness of black eyeliner is balanced out with sweet pink eyeshadow. Wash a pink eyeshadow over the lid. Then apply liquid black eyeliner. As liquid eyeliner can be tricky to apply, go over with a black eyeshadow using a flat brush. This will hide any mistakes, and add further emphasis to the eye. Mascara and a creamy pink blush finish off the look. Watch this video beauty tutorial and learn how to create a classic pink eyeshadow and black eyeliner makeup look. Create a pink ey...
This video demonstrates how to pocket the object ball (in this case, the 8 ball), by letting the cue ball deflect off two rails. It is necessary for the cue ball to follow the imaginary parallel lines leading from these rails to the object ball. This shot is useful for when traditional shot lines are blocked. Make a kick shot using the 2 rail parallel line method.
The prank will start off with someone from the crew like Ehren; someone who will not be recognized. Go into Walmart and grab a shopping cart and move through the store filling the cart with random items. Completely fill it.
This past Friday, LG held their annual Mobile World Cup (re: publicity stunt), a speed-texting competition. Two Korean teenagers were named fastest and most accurate texters, raking in $100,000 in championship money. America came in second, with a $20,000 cash prize.
We've seen the talented Diego Stocco's music from a tree and experibass. YouTube's Julian Smith now brings us something equally unusual. The combined sounds of an old Jeep Cherokee (slamming doors, pushing door locks, revving the engine, setting off the door alarm, etc) make a techno song.
Capstone's CMT-380 stealth looking prototype can hit 150mph, compared to Tesla's 125. Tesla better step it up.
As November was coming to an end this year, the "6th Robo-One Gate in International Robot Exhibition 2009" dance competition took place. The contenders are just a little bit creepy, to say the least. Particularly exhibit A, Britney Spears wannabe, "LOVE & JOY, Yuhi Kimura", by Doka Harumi.
Cartograms are usually pretty mundane, but throw in Flickr, Photoshop, and a well-known public place and you have an artistic representation of popular colors. Much more eye-grabbing than your common map.
Remember Big Dog? Or Big Dog's counterpart, Little Dog? Well, Boston Dynamics has added a new member to their creepily-moving-calvary.
