Missed the holiday tablet sales? If you were hoping to grab a cheap BlackBerry PlayBook, you're in luck. All of the PlayBook models have been reduced to $299 in a limited-time sale by Research in Motion. But you better hurry, because the sale only lasts until tomorrow (February 4th).
This is one of the coolest achievements/easter eggs I've seen in a while. Batman's foe Calendar Man has a disposition for, you guessed it, calendars. And with that comes an unnatural fascination with the major holidays, which is the basis of the achievement 'Storyteller'.

Our first look will be at scavenger hunt beginners. The youngsters. The ones some people say shouldn't even be doing a scavenger hunt (and maybe they're right). If you dare to put on a treasure hunt for people who can't tie their shoe, here is what you need to know.
The newest addition to the talented Danny MacAskill's impressive portfolio of stunt videos showcases the cyclist maneuvering through a closed iron works factory. Shot by filmmaker Stu Thomson, the video features MacAskill riding through empty buildings and rusty railroads, as he jumps, flips, and turns new tricks—from simple stunts like jumping from one railroad track to the other, to more complicated feats like riding a rope. What does it take to film an athlete like Danny MacAskill? It's a ...
Sitting around thinking about my average sexual performance, I wondered if there were other things in life that were also 30 seconds long. I was extremely relieved that such things were possible! These 30 second movies are the mobile text equivalent to major films or projects. From film to parody to games, it looks like you can really recap everything in half a minute! So stop checking your texts on every red light, give your thumbs a rest and check these out instead!
Without Japan, video games would not be very fun. Atari's early work was important, but Japanese developers, publishers, and hardware makers were responsible for almost every major advance in video games for the first 25 years of their mainstream existence. In recent years, it has often been said that they have become less relevant than Western developers. In the indie games movement— (our area of greatest interest here at Indie Games Ichiban)—Japan does not have anywhere near the presence th...
Nope, it’s not the McDonalds menu, but close enough. Jim Blackhurst has mapped 11 million deaths onto a 3-dimensional point cloud for video game Just Cause 2. The result is an amazing virtual heat map of a world where every white dot represents a death on impact: The millions of deaths formulate a detailed outline of major structures and roads in the game, visually mapping "extractions" at every square inch. In most traditional games, this would not be possible—players more often than not sta...
In just a few days, the biggest expo in the video game industry will unleash the newest games and hardware from all of the major companies. Nintendo is set to unveil its Wii-replacing Project Café and Konami will showcase its upcoming lineup, including new Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid games. But what will Sony be presenting at E3 in Los Angeles this year?
What do you get when you combine eBay, foursquare, and Craigslist want ads into a single mobile application? A really gnarly mobile bazaar called Zaarly that lets you post wanted products or services based on local proximity and timeliness. It's not a new idea, but it's the first to get it right.
This past Tuesday, Amazon pushed a big software update to Kindle users the world over. While the update introduces a host of great new features—secondary page numbers that allow readers to reference real-world editions, for example—, it also takes something away. What?
I am not trying to ruin anyones hopes and dreams...BUT... Look, say you go to Graduate school in fine art. You graduate 3 years later, $100,000 in dept. You go into a workforce which is so over saturated, you can't get a job making copies at kinkos.
In the picture for this post you can see a grab of David Kassan's DVD sales page. The reason it is there, is if you really want to be the best, you should know how to draw. I suggest buying this DVD and anything from David Kassan, Jeremy Lipking or Tony Pro. If you want to learn, why not learn form the best?
See a burning building? Hold all calls to the fire department. Canadian artist Isabelle Hayeur fools passerbyers with her installation, "Fire with Fire", an artwork that creates the illusion of a fire-swept four-story heritage building in the downtown eastside of Vancouver. "The Downtown Eastside is the oldest neighbourhood in Vancouver; it is also the most run-down. This historic area is infamous for being plagued by social problems due to poverty. Before falling prey to serious urban decay,...

Dumpsters make great swimming pools and skateboard ramps, but when they're full of trash, they're pretty valuable, too. You can get a surprising amount of free booty dumpster diving. If you're a penny pincher who values low cost (re: free) functionality, check out Apartment Therapy's guide to mastering the craft. Below, my three favorite insider tips.
Besides the great game play that made Starcraft great, there is also an equally excellent storyline that goes with it. This why Starcraft stands out so much from other strategy games. Anyone that played the original Starcraft probably still remembers the betrayal and Kerrigan's sad fate.
This is probably the funniest video I've seen this year, they really don't hold anything back. Things you'll see in the video, based on real events:
U.K. department store Debenhams has pulled back the curtain on the reality behind swimsuit modeling. As expected, the standard model goes through quite a bit of "Photoshop magic".

Hey has anybody tried Microsoft Office 2010 yet? It looks like they had their major Keynote today (2010-05-12). Being an IT guy I am looking forward to rolling this out in my company. I liked the ribbon when it was introduced in Office 2007 & with Office 2010 it looks like they have refined this look. One of the programs that will benefit the most from this new release is PowerPoint. PowerPoint will have new 'built-in' video editing, new transitions and a tool to show PowerPoint's over the web.
What else is there to say about Search & Destroy other than it is the greatest punk fanzine to have ever lived?
The Job Board is a weekly entry of the most ridiculous Cinematography related jobs posted online. Note: This posting was from a year ago.

Your iPhone is full of search bars. Messages, Notes, Photos, Reminders ... these apps and more allow you to search for specific items to speed up whatever it is you're doing. But the fastest way to search in iOS might not be by typing.
Snapchat users have clamored for the ability to share their Stories since the app's inception, and we're finally going to be able to with "Stories Everywhere." Similar to how Twitter gave people the ability to embed tweets in 2011, Snap, Inc. aims to make Stories even more accessible for those outside of the platform.
Apple announced today at WWDC that Apple Maps is about to get a lot more detailed with its inclusion of floor plans of shopping malls and airports. This will be a welcomed feature to Maps as users will be able to quickly see which stores the malls have and how to get to them easily. The feature will also allow consumers to know exactly where their gates may be to get to their flights faster, or where to grab coffee. These maps will be created for cities such as Boston, New York Chicago, Hong ...
The race to the driverless finish line just got more challenging as Apple seems to have joined the pack. Friday, the global superpower secured a permit from the California Department of Motor Vehicles that allows them to test autonomous cars in the state.
Android names each major OS version according to the alphabet, but N presented a dilemma. Sticking with their sweet-strategy, the folks at Google weren't left with many options for the 14th letter of the alphabet. In fact, they even opened up suggestions for the name, asking fans to pitch in their ideas.
Your constitutional right to privacy cannot be violated by police, so ruled the United States Supreme Court in a unanimous decision on two cases from California and Massachusetts—a major ruling for privacy advocates worldwide.
Imagine if Apple sold customized, jailbroken iPhones at their retail stores. Do you know how freaking awesome that would be? Knowing Apple and their extremely tight-assed regime, it's more likely that Tony Romo will actually win a Super Bowl (Cowboys burn).
Now that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is becoming increasingly available, we're going to begin seeing many more of its software features leak out.
Every time a major social media network changes its layout, people are pissed—especially when it's Facebook. Zuckerberg and company seem to have a knack for implementing changes that people hate, and then learn to love (Timeline, anyone?).
Racing games are always better when you have a steering wheel instead of just a handheld controller. And those old-school arcade racing cockpits? Even better. Matthew Boyer decided to bring the feel of a racetrack into his living room with this insanely awesome DIY arcade racing cockpit. He built the frame out of plywood and a real racing seat, then added LEDs, surround sound, and a 32-inch flat screen. The pedals, shifters, and steering wheel are laid out to match the measurements in his rea...
