What started off as a meme, has turned into a near reality. When the E3 trailer for Battlefield 3 was released this summer, it started off with a soldier holding up a dinosaur statue. Obviously, this means that DICE (the developers) should release a DLC pack where you're fighting dinosaurs. This is the next best thing, I guess. DICE, if you're listening, I've got loads of ideas for the dinosaur DLC.
Today, I'm dedicating to the Assassin's Creed fans out there. Yesterday saw the release of the latest in the series, Assassin's Creed: Revelations. In honor of that release, we here at Achievement Arcade would like to give the fans every advantage you can get.

If you’re unfamiliar with League of Legends, you’re either not into PC gaming or you haven’t spent much time on the internet. Riot Games officially released League almost two years ago, and since then it’s become a huge hit. In fact, the Santa Monica based company recently announced that the DOTA inspired game has 15 million registered users, 4 million unique logins each month, and 500,000 people playing the game at any given moment.
The yet-to-be released Augmented Reality Cinema app is sure to make avid movie fans across the world drool. The concept is genius and appears to be quite seamless as well: Simply install the app on your iPhone, take a stroll through your city (supported cities have not yet been released, but the video below shows London), and aim your phone at various locations to view movie scenes that have been previously shot there.

Cult Ritual are one of my favorite hardcore bands of the last few years. Hailing from Florida, their sound is a cross between 'Damaged-era' Black Flag, Bl'ast, and Poison Idea. Mean, dissonent, chaotic, and noisy. Everything i love about hardcore wrapped up in one. I don't think they are still together and I believe members are now in Neon Blud, Nazi Dust, and Slavescene. Also be sure to check Merchandise and Body Rot (both feature members of Cult Ritual). Most, if not all of their releases a...
Most of you know Thurston Moore as one-fifth of Sonic Youth, but did you know he runs his own record label Ecstatic Peace? Ecstatic Peace not only releases music in tape, vinyl and CD formats, but also releases ace poetry journals edited by Thurston Moore himself. Contributors include Ira Cohen, Byron Coley, Mike Watt (of the Minutemen!), Loren Connors, and tons more. This is a video filmed by Last Exit Magazine of Moore reading a few of his own poems at White Columns in New York City as part...
And the best part? No glasses required. Avatar has unleashed utter 3D mania, and Nintendo plans to jump in sometime this coming year. Not much information has been provided, but here is what has been explicitly stated, via Nintendo's press release:
If you ever consider modding your Galaxy Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra, you'll need to know about recovery mode and download mode. Even if that isn't your thing, knowing how to how to boot into these modes can help save your phone from a soft brick.

Here's some good news if you were hankering for a little early-2000s electronic-scream-rap-metal to get you through the day. Linkin Park's debut release, Hybrid Theory, the 48th best-selling album of all time, is available for free on the Google Play Store. Hate to break it to everybody abroad, but it looks like the album is free only to users in the U.S.
All you Sprint customers still rocking the HTC EVO 4G LTE got some good news last night. Per Martin Fichter, a US Vice President at HTC, the once flagship Sprint device has been issued a final update, taking the device from Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) to Android 4.3 (Jellybean). While not the latest Android version, this update also carries the upgrade to Sense 5. As the company stated in their Reddit AMA, HTC will continue to update their flagship devices to the latest Android versions ...
HTC has started rolling out it's KitKat update (Android 4.4.2) for the HTC One to French carrier SFR, expanding on the original update to it's Google Play Edition devices from November. Update roll outs tend to begin in Europe, Asia, and Africa before hitting stateside, but the release means we can't be too far away from a public build. As always, US carriers take much longer than their international counterparts, but the French OTA (over-the-air) update means that, for all intents and purpos...
There was some immense hype over the release of the infamous and awesome-as-hell Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas game for Android devices, but that excitement has subsided and been replaced by huge disappointment. The Reviews page is riddled with negative reception and one-star ratings, with the main issue being that the game cannot identify that you've legitimately purchased it (which is a dumb $6.99) and refuses to work properly. Don't buy it yet, wait for the bugs to get figured out. There's...
Yesterday, Microsoft announced that Windows 8 RTM is available to its MSDN subscribers and TechNet Professionals. But they've also included a free 90-day trial for developers that anyone can download, no subscription needed. The download is actually for the Enterprise version, so after the 90 days are over you won't be able to upgrade, you'll have to do it from your original operating system when the non-Enterprise version is released in October.
Hello, I'm Daniel Yelamos and I'm the CM of ARLab, a Spanish-Israel company that develops AR solutions. We've released a couple of SDKs and a few apps based on AR to help people develop this kind of software. Last week we released LinkAR, a social community for developers interested in AR community, I could type and type about all its features, but why don't you watch it for yourselves here?
If you've ever popped the hood of you car and went, "I can do that," then you're about to get your chance. A Japanese company called Modi-Corp has unveiled its plans to release a kit that will let you put together your very own electric car. Granted, it's not that impressive of a vehicle. Actually, the "Pius" is just a one-seater and somehow strangely classified in Japan as a "motorized bicycle." The "car" will only be able to reach top speeds of up to 21 mph, making it more of a go-kart than...
iRobot released their new soft blob morphing robot this past Tuesday. The amazing shape-shifter has the ability to squeeze
Ah, kissing! What could be more fun?!? Wait, and healthy? A minute’s worth of kissing burns 26 calories.
Here's the prank... Dress wee man up as a cat, put him in a pet carrier, and have one of you try to get him through the baggage claim. When it doesn't work, release the "cat" and chase him around the airport.
You have electric dog fence placed randomly throughout a field and have each of the jackass crew strap electric dog collars on their legs and arms and have them try and get through the field without getting shocked. Also blind fold them and once they cant see have packs of skunk released in the field. Could have this indoors so the skunk dont run away but feel trapped and so you can have it in a smaller area.
Any random public bathroom in anytown USA. Dead Island is known for having the most successful trailer of any game ever. It was a beautiful cinematic experience. But sadly, as details of the game itself emerged, and after it was shown at conventions around the world, doubt began to set in about whether this five-year-long project would live up to the hype.
Big news from the world of game development engines. For several years, Unity3D has been the free 3D game development engine of choice for aspiring and indie game designers around the world. While it isn't as powerful as Unreal Engine 3 or CryEngine, it's free and much easier to use. Now, according to an announcement made by Unity yesterday, Unity 3D is about to unleash a huge weapon that neither of those other engines can claim: Flash compatibility.
For as much money as they've made from North American video game audiences over the years, Japanese game developers don't seem to have very much faith in them. Dozens of great titles from their 40 years in the industry have appeared in Japan and across Europe, oftentimes even in English. But they never make it over to America, like Mother 3, Last Window: Midnight Promise, Dragon Force 2, and Tobal No. 2 (that one didn't even hit Europe).
Games like Minecraft and Braid have proven that there is money to be made in the indie game marketplace, which means more and more designers are following suit, one being Zeboyd Games. The two-man indie design team released two excellent JRPG spoofs on the Xbox Live Indie Games (XBLIG) Marketplace in 2010: Breath of Death VII ($1) and Cthulhu Saves the World ($3). Both have been well-reviewed and spent time near the top of the XBLIG sales charts, but its success couldn't be rivaled by what wa...
Video games and books seldom have much impact on one another. Games based on movies based on books are fairly common, but games made directly from books are all but nonexistent. This is too bad, given that they're the two most interactive medias out there.
These magical beans can keep your coffee hot for hours. Not blazing hot, burn your tongue on the first sip, and not disappointingly lukewarm, but coffee fit for every baby bear—just right. Genius.
What more is there to say about the almighty Conrad Schnitzler? One of the original founders of Tangerine Dream and Kluster (later Cluster), his contributions to the world of German experimental electronic music have been enormous. With album, cassette, and cd releases miles long, his discography would take a lifetime and a pretty penny to catch up to. 'Conrad and Sohn' is a pretty unique release, even for Schnitzler. The album was a private press release that he did with his son in 1981. App...
Chemical engineers at Cornell have created a small device that may one day turn troops into real life spider-men. The device would cradle in the palm of the hand, allowing troops to scale walls. It uses an adhesive inspired by the Floridian leaf beetle, an insect that "can adhere to leaves with power 100 times stronger than its own body weight".

We've seen all of the signs, but now we have some concrete evidence—Android Nougat will make its debut very soon. Canadian telecom company Telus recently posted an update schedule for its Android devices, and one date in particular stands out. According to the schedule, the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X will be getting an update to Android 7.0 on Monday, August 22. This is definitely in line with our previous thinking, as all of the signs have been pointing to an early Android release this year. In y...
