News: Paint + Water Looks Like Beautiful H-Bombs

Though photographer Mark Mawson's concept is simple, the results are stunning. In a series entitled Aqueous I and Aqueous II, Mawson took photographs of wet paint dispersed in water. The images evoke jellyfish, or rainbow colored hydrogen bombs. Mawson says:"I had seen lots of ink in water shots and wanted to try something which had more body and which produced more organic forms."

Soviet Montage put together this great demonstration of HDR (high dynamic range) video. Using 2 Canon 5D Mark II's, they used a beam splitter to create video images that previously have only been possible in still photography.

How To: Make Argentinian matambre, stuffed flank steak

Mark Bittman shows us how to make Matambre, an Argentine dish, also known as Stuffed Flank Steak. Take a piece of flank steak and make a shallow cut about halfway down the thickness of the meat, and two perpendicular cuts on either end, then open it up into a large thin piece of meat. Lay it out and sprinkle it with salt, cumin, oregano and garlic. Add some carrot sticks, olives, pieces of onion, parsley, cilantro and watercress. Carefully roll it up into a long roll and secure it with twine.
