According to LAist, this movie was shot on a Canon 7D. Have to say, the look is great, but the story is not that appealing, despite this taking place in my neighborhood.
I took this picture with my Blackberry, so sorry for the fuzzy quality. My birthday was on Monday, so of course we went and got a cake. It was a delicious red velvet cake from Lark, a great cake shop on Sunset in Silver Lake. My husband bought the last one!
It's unique layered coloring makes this tequila cocktail an impressive favorite for all alcohol lovers! An old and traditional cocktail, but still works the magic at both sunrise and sunset. Make a Tequila Sunrise cocktail.

Matildo Nieva and VideoJug demonstrate how to make a Batida Morango cocktail. An irresistible sweet combination of strawberries and sugar - the perfect accompaniment to a summer sunset! Add the crushed ice, cachaca, strawberries and sugar to the blender. Put onto a low speed and blend all of the ingredients together well. Carefully pour the blended ingredients into a wine glass. Place a strawberry on the side of the glass to decorate and serve straight away. Make a Batida Morango cocktail.
This is a really quick video I took of a moonrise last year. It has been sped up by a factor of 8 and was taken using a 2600 mm equivalent lens (75 times zoom for a 35 mm lens). The mountain it is rising over is about 40 miles away.
Congratulations to Bryan Kiguchi for Dreaming Little Bird, our winning shot of the Phone Snap Double Exposure Challenge!
Waves are like clouds. Perpetually calming, they possess a serene beauty that never grows old. It's no wonder humans capture the planet's daily natural wonders over and over again. Armed with a camera, they just can't resist the classic postcard shot: Sunrise. Sunset. Clouds. Mountains. Beaches. Waves.
I've been digging their latest album I Will Be for the past couple months, should be a fun time. Dum Dum Girls / Crocodiles / Dunes / Soft Healer @ The Echo ($12)

Photography is a wonderful thing. It means you won't ever leave something behind and forget about it.
The fine Brits over at Videojug are devoted to the world of tutorials. Revelatory, fun, procedural. Yup, it is a how-to. The cheeky tone simply adds color.
Some of you have already seen the superbness of tonight's "super moon", but for those of you in the western half of the United States, there's still time to ready your cameras and enjoy March 19th's super full moon. It's the biggest full moon in almost 20 years, the last one appearing in March of 1993.
Taking great photos doesn’t mean you have to invest in an expensive camera. By learning a little bit about photography and the camera you have, you can use a simple point-and-shoot to capture amazing pictures. Try out these tips to begin!
From Infowars: “Of course, at this stage Mr. Paul is little more than a distraction to Mr. Romney, and the two candidates are said to be quite fond of each other. Until now, Mr. Santorum had also been pinning some of his hopes on Texas, which, with its 155 delegates, has the most delegates of any contest to date,” writes Gerry Mullany.

This is the last one I'll post up for this contest. I've already eliminated myself by posting up twice...and now thrice... I'm sorry I can't resist. I'm seeing such amazing pictures and they are reminding me of other pictures I've taken... so thanks everyone. About the picture: This is across the bay from San Francisco on Treasure island which is the island in the middle of the bay bridge. You can see all of downtown San Francisco as well half of the bay bridge to the right and golden gate br...

SOUR GRASS. Sourgrass is known to the scientific world as Oxalis pes-caprae.
Apparently a little amateur astronomy can go a long way. On March 21, 2009, Ralf Vandebergh, sitting in his backyard, pointed his 10 inch telescope at the sky and "saw a few bright pixels appear precisely where the work was going on at exactly the moment it was being conducted." A few bright pixels = an astronaut!
Los Angeles is filled with a myriad of options restaurant wise for all of your foodie needs. I am indeed a foodie, but there is nothing better to me then simple produce inspired plates. Here are three of my favorite spots in Los Angeles to find great organic treats all around the city. Happy Eating!
Up On the Roof: Urban Rooftop Farming and The Brooklyn Grange So sometimes something inspires me so much that it makes me want to run to the rooftop of my eastside L.A. apartment and shout out at the top of my lungs "LOOK AT THIS, THIS IS AMAZING!". The Brooklyn Grange is one of those kinds of things.
Samosa House This southern Indian market and restaurant is a stellar choice for any veggie. Their jackfruit is superb! If you've never tried it, please do. It looks like pulled pork, tastes like a seitan or chicken and is a great natural alternative to meat. Lucky you, they just opened up a second location up the street in Culver City! Also the Bharat Bazaar is a great spot to pick up spices, ginger beer and anything you're missing as far as an Indian grocery goes!
I woke up at 4:00 am this morning in order to take some video of the last total lunar eclipse visible from North America till 2014. The eclipse was beautiful. It was amazing to watch the shadow of our planet creep slowly across our nearest neighbor. Once the shadow was blocking out most of the light from the sun, the moon was significantly dimmer and the color had changed to a reddish orange. This color is caused by the same effect that makes our sunrises and sunsets so colorful. The light fr...

When you grab a video game off the shelves, finding love is probably not your end goal. Most games focus on letting the player shoot guys, order other guys to shoot guys, or build houses. Mass Effect 2 comes closer than most titles to offering virtual romance, but the relationships are shallow and strictly heterosexual. I found whoring my way around the Normandy much more satisfying as a gameplay option than developing an emotional connection to another character.
Don't you hate Googling or Yelping venues just to find the answer to a simple question? Well look no further, this guide has all you need to know about your favorite venues. Simple and to the point.
This one smells like a fish story. It is not. Tuesday April 13, Dave and I got up to surf westward at 7 in the morning. First rate waves. Headache cold water....sun blocked by the cliffs. Fast, clean, beach break. 3-4 foot sets, mostly lefts. About 15 dolphins swam by. Blase blase. We always see dolphins. But then some bigass whale with barnacles breaches. We are speechless. It is about 20 feet from us. We follow it for about thirty seconds and pinch ourselves. Have-you-ever? No...
Industrial espionage, social engineering and no-tech hacking are all very real and there are simple precautions that you can take to protect yourself, which this article will discuss. Whether you are a high-profile businessman or a housewife (or husband), keeping information you want to keep private, private, should be important to you.
Difficulty Level: Moderate Photoshop Skills Photoshop isn't just for zapping zits and adding freaky colors to sunset pictures! You can use it for fun, altered-reality pictures, too. If you have a tripod and some friends, you can combine many exposures as separate layers and using layer masks, make one super cool image from many slightly cool images.
Difficulty Level: If you have eyes, you can do this.
Looking for frog legs or authentic Armenian and Middle Eastern cuisines? Then Marouch is the ideal place for you to go. Marouch is in the center of a strip mall next to a 7/11 and a fast food Philippine restaurant. Marouch is a restaurant, which one might not consider fancy, but in fact it is. The restaurant interior stands out and it is the complete opposite from the exterior. Marouch is an ideal place to dive into exotic food that one might not try under different circumstances. It will lea...
