I used, I think 4 images for this one. They were mostly partial works begun for making masks. I tinted them using others filters in different ranges and then sandwiched them together as transparencies. From there I worked the colors and transparencies together to get close to my desired effect. After that I hand colored some areas of some of the layers to finish it off.
How many trips up and down the stairs do you think it took artist Janne Parviainen to create this incredible topographical light painting? Apparently, quite a few. Using only one LED, he moves around his house, tracing all of the surfaces. Sometimes the exposure times are up to 30 minutes to achieve this effect. As anyone who has tried it knows, stacking pistons on top of each other in order to combine their effects is really, really complicated. Stacking two on top of each other is only slightly hard, but the difficulty rises exponentially with each added piston. Stacking three is pretty tough, and stacking four is downright ridiculous.
