The art of disguise is a very important skill to master, no matter if you're a hounded celebrity trying to ditch the paparazzi or just someone who'd like to step out of the house without being recognized. If you think simply throwing on sunglasses and a hat is a good disguise, you are so wrong.

My attempt at real astrophotography. The two bright nebula are M 42 and M 43 located in Orion's Sword. I took about 20 images at ISO 800 and 1.6 second exposures using a 300 mm lens and stacked them in Photoshop after repositioning them because of the movement of the sky. This is cropped in just a tiny bit.
In my early life I was deeply impacted by the work of physician and psychoanalyst John C. Lilly. I still have my dog-eared copies of The Mind of the Dolphin (1967) and Programming and Metaprogramming in the Human Biocomputer (1968). I thought the brightness in the cat picture mixed well with the brightness of the white sand of Destin, Florida. I wished I could have cropped the picture with the cat in it so there wasn't a huge chair on the water! Tiger (the cat) was actually watching a bug fly by, witch is also in the shadow but isn't visible through the sand. I used Instagram to apply the Hefe filter to the shadow picture and BlendCam to do the double exposure part.

The few pieces I've uncovered across the series has always been through dumb luck. But if you want that 'Scout Leader' achievement, you'll have to find all 46 pieces of intel throughout the entire single player campaign.
Vladimir Bulatov makes sculptures of fantastic variations on polyhedra and other geometric objects. His site is full of incredible metal, glass, and wooden geometric sculptures, including a full section on pendants and bracelets. Here are just a dozen or so of the hundreds of beautiful objects that he has produced.
When Cerek mentioned astronomy-inspired artwork in his Astronomy World introduction post, I immediately thought of Russell Crotty. Crotty is a California artist who creates beautiful sculptures and drawings inspired by astronomy, landscape, and surfing.
After Cory Poole posted some great Escher snowflakes, and Cerek Tunca had the great idea of using it as a base for a tetrahedron, well, I just had to give it a go. I will post a few more pictures and variants later (I think this was what Cerek was envisaging—if not let me know!)

I think this would count as a pet, right? Well, everybody was doing either cats or dogs (with the occasional goat), so I decided to take a picture of something different. This is Pandora, my horse. When you're giving her a bath, she hates when you get her head wet. You can see the water in the lower left corner. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be intimidating or what, but to me it's hilarious! The picture was hard to take, though, because I had to hold the camera and spray water at her.
I decided I would make those earrings I alluded to in Monday's Post on orderly tangles. I had to shrink the templates down so that the triangles are about 2 cm on a side. I used 110 lb cardstock and and painted them using metallic leafing paint in gold, silver, copper, and brass. I would put up a tutorial, except I think that this project would be too frustrating for most people. Any daredevils out there? This one is for you. The 'Almost Flying' achievement in Assassin's Creed: Revelations looks absolutely awesome to try. You'll have to parachute from the top of the Galata Tower (which I think is the highest point in the game), and fly all the way to the golden horn.
This is for the parkour enthusiasts out there. There's a certain achievement, Spider Assassin, actually, which calls on the player to climb the entirety of the Hagia Sophia in under 25 seconds. Think you're up to it? The reward is 20G for Xbox 360 players, or a bronze trophy for PlayStation 3 players.

The guys over at Achievement Hunter have a really great compilation of Modern Warfare 3 achievement guides. I mean, why else would we showcase them here? This one is for 'Danger Close' on the "Bag and Drag" level, and will net you a cool 20G, or a bronze trophy if you're on PlayStation 3. Basically, you have to target a helicopter so your buddies up in the AC-130 will shoot it down for you. For those that don't know, Pastafarianism is the understanding that the entire universe was created by a flying spaghetti monster. These people have made a statue as a shrine to worship. (he he) Originally a poke at organized religion, the Flying Spaghetti Monster has taken hold as a spoof belief structure in that it is no more or less feasible than any other monotheism. This is the first of a multi-part series on steganography techniques. Steganography, the art of hiding things in plain sight, has existed for a long time, and in many forms. When you manipulate the alphabet to have your own cipher and decipher, this is considered steganography.
I have a few pictures, but the first is my entry. I thought the sweat fly was pretty cool. I don't understand why they named it such an ugly name for such a beautiful bug (not that the Luna Moth isn't). The pictures are more zoomed out progressively so I can see how close I can get to the moth before it flies off. Actually, it didn't fly off. I got to put my hand next to it- it had a 6 inch wingspan!
I'm new here, but wanted to add formufit to the list of links on your cork board. They are solely sellers of structural PVC items, used to build greenhouses and such. I am currently building some outdoor PVC furniture as the weather here in Missouri has destroyed our previous 'durable store bought' furniture.
