News: Bibliophile Dreamland

For most bibliophiles, a bookshelf-lined house as beautiful as the Kazuya Morita Architecture Studio's Shelf Pod house is a dream come true. The interior of the space consists of an endless grid of interlocking laminated pine-boards, which slot together to form latticed shelving units:

News: Miniature Cakes & Other Tiny Desserts

Perhaps given the fact that a majority (73%) of the US population is now obese, we should think about ways to shrink ourselves. Think if everyone was shrunk down to a quarter of their normal size how much longer all the resources would last. Well, before we have the technology to do that, Artist Stéphanie Kilgast has spent the last 24 years miniaturizing food.

News: Often Under Appreciated

Meg White is often not fully respected as a drummer and just seen as more of a background to Jack Whites stage act. But i really respect what shes doing and her style. I think she's really just sticking to the rock and roll roots and not trying to go for anything too fancy. Is a good reminder of how key simplicity can be. I thinks she's in the pocket. Here is another video from "From the Basement" of The White Stripes, Blue Orchid.

News: ASC DP shoots on 5D, looks like crap

For as much as Shane Hurlbut ASC's name is ostensibly everywhere right now for all the wrong reasons (re: Christian Bale, 5D challenge, etc.), as a cinematographer I think he's extremely talented.  The photography and camera work in "The Greatest Game Every Played" are very underrated and the futuristic look he gave to "Terminator Salvation" is both stunning and unique.

How To: Create a Best man's speech in PowerPoint

Everyone thinks the bride and groom are having to do all the work day when it's their wedding. No one spares a thought for the poor sap who has to take on the role of Best man. Not only are there some fairly hefty ‘responsibilities' to adhere to, you have to get up in front of everyone and deliver the most gut-wrenching speech of all. Get it right, you're a hero. Get it wrong, and you've ruined the ‘special' day she's been dreaming about since she was an 8-year-old little princess. So check o...

Bibi’S Twofer: Bulgaria Bombing Allows Him to Flay Hezbollah, Iran, Possibly Go to War

Anonymous U.S. officials are quoted by the NY Times stating explicitly that a Hezbollah suicide bomber attacked the Israeli tourist bus yesterday. While this is entirely possible, I think we should remember the bizarre bombing plot of a few months ago in which a small-time Iranian drug dealer was alleged by the Justice Department to have direct links to the Revolutionary Guards, and to have plotted the assassination of the Saudi ambassador. By the way, this is the same person, Bandar ibn Sult...

How To: Bleach water stains from furniture

Not many people are familiar with blintzes, but they are familiar with crepes. It's the same principle, only the Jewish breakfast of cheese blintzes involves a little different strategy. Bruce Bell demonstrates traditional Jewish stuffed pancakes. The batter is similar to that of a crepe, and the thin pancakes cook up in a matter of seconds. Each crepe is filled with an ample amount of farmers' cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla, then cooked to a golden-brown. Blintzes ar...
