What's the geekiest way to propose to your girlfriend? Make a robot do it for you. As a self-declared dork, RangerX52 wanted to take a simple task like proposing and make it as utterly complicated as possibly—by having a DIY robot do it for him. With knowledge of his lady's infatuation with the childlike personality of GIR, one of the main characters from the animated Invader ZIM series, he went ahead and built a tiny robotic replica of GIR to do his bidding.
Greetings and Salutations,
Another poor quality photo but I swear the food was amazing. I loved the simplicity of the dish. The crisp sugar snap peas, zesty lemon chicken and aromatic potato's (I tossed in some bay leaves and garlic cloves while the potato's boiled... I think it made a difference) really all came together quite well.
Tomo Sushi in Atlanta with a friend/vendor on a recent work trip. Expensive but delicious and inspirational presentations. I don't remember exactly which fish this was. It wasn't mackerel or needlefish. The flesh was minced with some green onion and white wine vinegar I think. Good stuff.
Here is my last minute staff choice ( Mon-Fri I think) entry, a giant... well you see. A nice big bridge. With support cables (fences) and guard rails.
An audio recording of an exchange between a teacher and a student at North Rowan High School in North Carolina serves as a reminder that the school system is becoming a training ground for teaching kids to be subservient to the state while indoctrinating them into thinking that the First Amendment doesn't exist.
Heya All, I have a new video on my YouTube channel and this time its a music video I shot / edited for Cape Town based band, Cold Hand Chemistry.
Chilling on the beach and want some grub? If you're starving and can't afford to lose those sun rays walking around for some lunch, have the food come to you instead!
What do you think of the build?
We talk about packet captures often here on Null Byte, but check out this gem. The future of this? what do you all think?
In a recent tweet, Notch has declared that we (the community, not just this World) will develop the OS to be distributed with 0x10c. I hope we're up to the task. Notch thinks we are, and that gives me all kinds of warm fuzzies.
He does say that it won't hurt current oil supply, but I think otherwise. According to the White House, it has calculated the risk and current world oil supply, but expect gas prices to rise. Reports say that they will peak at 4.25 a gallon.
If only airline safety cards were more like this in real life, we would be much more tempted to read them. Then again, in the unlikely event of an emergency, we'd have to endure cries of "Won't someone please think of the children!?"
An old blog that I hope to reincarnate in the near future...What do you think so far? (excuse the self promotion)
Haha, I love these...thought I would share? :)
I'll keep this short and sweet, as the game is online, loads quickly, it's free, and easy to play: it's quicker to play it than describe it: EnterTheStory.com
This creepy-as-hell vintage jam ad is a WTF as it comes. It's not uncommon to find old ads that are somewhat off kilter. Think you can find a legit ad that's more unsettling than this one? I challenge thee!
Brainwashing is something that happens to us every day, whether you believe it or not. It doesn't take fancy tools or space-age technology. Even if our country didn't intentionally brainwash people (believe me, they do), our country's media is brainwashing people nonstop. Just sit back and think about it for a second—about the way things work in the world and media. But before you do that, let's learn what brainwashing really is.
The ultimate alternate "life" style. Alien life may be a lot closer to home than you thought in a shadow biosphere.
A very visual description of the Drake Equation, its importance to the SETI program and a thought or two as to what it means.
Our class had been assigned interviews with political representatives from different branches. In these interviews we asked questions that we had generated about their career position, advice to young activists, our government system, getting involved, and their opinion on certain laws. Here are the results from the two interviews that were done.
After I made a blog and sent it to my friends about how I made Gingerbreadman Map fractal holiday cookies, one of them linked me back to the Sierpinski Carpet cookies, which I loved! So, I thought I'd share my how-to with everyone as well!
Hey everyone! These are a few screenshots from an indie game we announced today - Nyrthos. If you like it, definitely check us out at www.nyrthos.com and tell us what you think!
Taken at the Toronto Eaton Centre using an iPhone and Hipstamatic 231 app, James M lens and Ina's 1969 film. The radial spin was created on camera by quickly turning the phone clockwise. I didn't think it was possible since I had no control whatsoever with shutter speed or aperture and what not. No post-processing done except resizing in Photoshop CS 5.
I think most of these are iPad apps, which I don't have, but I'd love to see some reviews of some of these apps to find out whether they're worth downloading or not.
The purpose of this article is to discuss how you can change your Windows 7 logon screen. This post will explain how to require a user to enter a username and password by default like the classic version of Windows.
I write for a movie site called Flixist, a sister-site of Destructoid. Basically, I write movie news, reviews, features, and interviews. I wrote this for our feature series Flixist Film School. It's a primer into film editing technique.
I love this project. It involves fire, projectiles, electricity, and is easy to put together from commonly available parts. This mini cannon fires airsoft pellets, is fueled by alcohol, and is made almost entirely from parts found in a standard BBQ lighter. The total cost is under $5. About half of the BBQ lighters out there have a divide in the gas reservoir which makes them not work for this project. In case you have trouble finding a suitable lighter, the exact one I use in this video is a...
It's a little late for Halloween, but I'm thinking about making a creepy lawn ornament for the Holidays. Nothing says Christmas cheer like something a little weird.
Now, I know what you're thinking... "I need an extra sexy coffee table that is like no other."
Older photo form a rather simple phone, a Sony Ericsson W900 (2Mp was as bad as the very first iPhone - except this Sony came a year earlier).
I have just joined "Phone Snap" and thought that my first upload should be the photograph that I took most recently. I took this a few hours ago when out for a walk around a local lake. The effect is produced by the Vignette app. The photograph is part of a series that I am taking of benches.
I saw this car as i was driving home on Thursday morning, Thanksgiving. after a heavy night of partying, and thought it would make a great image. Taken with my Galaxy S Samsung Epic 4G, then imported to lightroom for some tweaking
Welcome to Minecraft World! Check out our advanced tutorials and come play on our free server. Sometimes it's easy to get overwhelmed with the sheer scale or complexity of a build or group project on your favorite server. Too much stress from any creative endeavour can lead to mistakes, discouragement, or fighting among a community. What better way to relieve stress and entertain the troops than some old fashioned competition?

A DIY car laptop mount that uses the cup holder... You think texting and driving is bad, wait until it's true multitasking and driving. Ouch.

This is just too cool. As soon as I saw this, I thought, "Math Craft!"
My two cats disturbed by the camera. I can't win, but thought I'd share anyway. I've got a million pics, so I just chose the first good one I came across.
