The hardest part of starting a minecart railroad in Minecraft is getting it started. Anyone can lay some track in a circle, but what's the best way to stop and start your cart? In this Saturday's workshop, we'll be covering a variety of designs for minecart "train stations", so to speak, that effectively stop and start your minecarts.
As anyone who has tried it knows, stacking pistons on top of each other in order to combine their effects is really, really complicated. Stacking two on top of each other is only slightly hard, but the difficulty rises exponentially with each added piston. Stacking three is pretty tough, and stacking four is downright ridiculous.
I was messing around in single player, (because the server is down) when a wild idea came to my mind. To build a printer, i have seen many examples on youtube, but all of them where to complex to my understanding of redstone. The end result was simple and it could save 4 images. The printer only prints in 2 colours in white (wool) and grey (cobblestone). As you have seen in the las image above, there are 25 buttons on the wall, they are parallel to the display and you can use them to edit the...
In this article I'll show you how to make a simple IP address notifier. The program will text you your new IP address, in the event that it changes. For those of you with dynamic IPs, this is very useful. I'm constantly frustrated when my IP changes, and it's handy to be notified via text when it happens. To use the program, you'll need Python 2.7 or later, urllib2, and a program called "text" (see this article here to get it).
Welcome to Minecraft World! Check out our advanced tutorials and come play on ourfree server. Some Minecraft builds are notorious for sweeping scale and epic complexity. We've all seen those mammoth castles and recreations of huge cities like New York, or those incredible objects from the imagination like the Starship Enterprise.
This Week's Workshop: Music To My Ears The heart of WonderHowTo's Minecraft World is, naturally, “How-To” and so in the spirit of all things tutorial and DIY we will be hosting a weekly workshop showcasing the best and newest tutorials, builds, and inspiring ideas. We hope to inspire creativity and create a place where the community can share ideas and practice skills, right here on our server.
Whenever someone unexpectingly logs onto a pc... a loud gunshot noise will come through the speakers of the said computer. Then we queue the lights and we all run in gung ho with some night vision goggles and fire some paintball guns at the unsuspecting, scared dude that just nearly shit his pants
Today I was the only admin online at like 2:30 to 3:45. I had to deal with 27 people....asking me to World Edit all of their builds, and I explained how to apply online 3 different ways to 1 person...it was horrible. The other people who were online with me were getting super upset at this Guests. They were rude, and not able to understand super simple things.
Have you ever wanted to make redstone go as far as the eye can see? Well now you can with a design that I use to make redstone go 100000000 blocks without any delay! I showed this to many of the players on the server, and they all seemed to love it! Come check it out at www.youtube.com/user/SilentCircuitry or watch below.
Remember that scene in The Matrix when Trinity uses a realistic Nmap port scan, followed by an actual SSH exploit (long since patched) to break into a power company? Well, believe it or not, but that scene is not far fetched at all. If you want to exploit vulnerabilities and root boxes, you'll need to learn how to perform the necessary reconnaissance first. In fact, you will spend far more time researching your target then you will exploiting it. In this article, I am going to show you the fi...
For a moment, picture a situation where you want to host some files or images, but you do not want it traced back to you. Perhaps you're working on a project with others and need secure data storage. Anonymity is the new shield of the 21st century—and you best protect yourself. As always here at Null Byte, we are trying to make that happen. Before someone can learn how to root a box, they need to learn how not to be found. I can not stress that point enough.
Eventually, we plan on doing some root the box competitions here at Null Byte, but we're still looking for a server to play on. Anyone want to donate one? You won't regret it. Root the box is like 'king of the hill', except you have to hack a server and maintain access. Each server will have numerous known security holes, but until then, let's get back to the regular weekly coding sessions and realistic hacking missions on HackThisSite.
Have you ever noticed that whenever you setup your voicemail account after getting a new cell phone number, it asks you to create a security pin to access your voicemail from other phone lines?

We'd like this to be one of the last HTS mission announcements, at least for now. As soon as Null Byte finds a server to play with (anyone want to donate one?), we are going to start doing root the box competitions, which is like king of the hill, except you have to hack a server and maintain access. Each server will have numerous known security holes. But for now, back to the normal flow of things...

Something is forming on the cliffs west of Shmattown...User Zedicus is working on his cliff side home filled with Escher-like stair cases and bridges. There are some great examples of architectural themes in here, as well as a great use of nature as he as build into the and around the stone and grass. We'll likely have more examples of great architecture from Zedicus as progress moves along on the server.

I found that interesting for a first share :) Description from the author:
Getting your own blog is easier than what you can imagine. Thanks to WordPress. One need not be a techie to follow the steps mentioned below (though certain stages might require third-party advice).
InfoWorld has some expertise advice for the new Windows 7 operating system from Microsoft. Now that Microsoft has made the Windows 7 beta available for public download, many people are trying to figure out what's new and different. And many others not willing to risk their PCs by installing a beta OS are curious, too.
Not all work environments permit their employees to browse the web. So, whether you're updating your Facebook/Twitter status or surfing the naughtier sites, this simple How-To from Household Hacker may come in handy.
Okay so it begins with someone either me or one of the jackass crew in the classic old person makeup that makes them look as nasty as possible. Then we get in an elevator with unsuspecting people and the "old person" pretends to be having a heart attack or something. finally, then we convince one of the strangers to give the nasty-ass old man mouth-to-mouth resucitation :) the person playing the old man make it gross as possible and throw in some tongue moves too.
If you have never heard of Team Fortress Two here is your chance to play! Before we get into anything complicated, there are some basics you should know.

In the last article, we left off with the Tor network and its hidden services. As I mentioned, Tor is not the only option in the game, and I want to offer a general introduction to I2P.
Welcome to Minecraft World! Check out our advanced tutorials and come play on our free server. Does your structure sometimes lack that "pizzazz" you seek? Well, this week's Saturday workshop is going to give you a few tips on how to upgrade your builds! This workshop will be centered around adding some extra aesthetics to your castle walls, towers, buildings and more.
The already robust and ingenious Nmap tool has received a whole slew of new scanning scripts that can be used to do all sorts of naughty endeavors. Notably, the SQLi module, since it is a necessary evil that we must cover here at Null Byte. This major update is going to fuel today's lesson.
Null Byte is looking for forum moderators! Last Friday's mission was to accomplish solving HackThisSite, basic mission 9. This mission delves a little further into Unix commands and remote directory traversal (which is just a fancy term for going through folders blindly).
Cheers to another completed Community Byte project! Things went well regarding timeliness and being friendly to the other coders and students. If you've got ideas for our next mission, or an idea for a tutorial, submit them to me. Friday, our mission was to take out HackThisSite, basic mission 5. This mission focused on JavaScript, again. This time there is a little bit more security in place.
Welcome to the closing of the second HackThisSite and programming Community Byte. First and foremost, I would like to ask that people start showing up on time to the Community Bytes. If you need help converting your time zone to PST, go to Time Zone Converter. When users do not show up on time, we have to go backwards and catch everybody up. This wastes time and will also make other users' experience less enjoyable when they have to watch and listen to the same thing 100 times. Punctuality as...

Welcome to the second Goonight Byte! Our second coding session was kindly hosted by th3m, so props to him for letting this happen.
Our first Community Byte went well! We had around 8 people in the room coding collaboratively and watching to learn. LukeStav did the kind task of hosting it on Gobby for all of us, so big thanks to him!
